ABANDONED. YA Fantasy, I think. Series of books. Maybe 3. There was a ton of magic from what I remember. 2 or 3 factions at war with each other. Kid blows up school with magic in beginining. Something about a rose, maybe a white rose?

I read these books a really long time. I remember a kid blowing up a school with some fire magic them being sent to a boarding school. There was some war of roses, factions I believe. I believe I read this around 2007-2008 but it was so long ago. Unfortunately this is all I remember.
