The only things I can remember is that the Antagonist was a Female.. not why she was the antagonist. For the plot I feel like they had to search for multiple magical Items.. This is why I am struggling to find it... I can only remember a very small specific part at the end. I remember "following" the author on amazon, waiting for the next book to come out.. but now I've lost the series completely. I borrowed it for free from Kindle unlimited and I dont remember who the Author was.. I should have bought it. was hoping someone might have read the books and recognized the scene I described above

I remember it was a book series and for the life of me I can only remember parts from the last book. The main character travels on ship to a swamp\marshland with a party of people to find this item\artifact she needs. They end up fighting a bunch of zombie like swamp monsters, plus get bombarded by the main antagonists flying minions.. and when they are battle worn and exhausted but finally exit the marshes, they find more bad guys surrounding their ship. On a beach she runs into a female villain (witch maybe?) and battles her. Well the female main character gets caught by this female villain in a metal box (that is her weakness or something) because MC sacrifices herself to save the other person on the beach. MC is good at stealth or thievery because I remember her being able to slyly put the swamp item they acquired into someone else's pocket before being captured... and the story ends with her being flown away in the box. Huge cliffhanger. But we also find out that the main character prepared for this by taking a doppelganger ally aside and making her promise to take on her form and rule in her stead at her (the main characters) husbands side so the people don't lose hope until they can find her. I believe their are also dragons in the story??? MC is also known to make plans without anyone (even the reader) knowing what was gonna happen until after the fact.
