Dlmrose is out of town, but in her absence, I'll say yes to this.

Is there a page requirement or just the existing challenge parameters (100 pages or more)? Thanks!

There are no special page requirements for higher point tasks, unless specified in the task itself.
Dlmrose is out of town, but from the description, it sounds as if a teacher is a main character in the book.

The book is nonfiction, and both spirituality and self help are listed as main page genres, so the book fits option A.

Book 1: Mindfulness in Plain English and for Book 2: The Deptford Trilogy: Fifth Business by Robertson Davies. Dunstan, the main character is a retired teacher.

would this be ok for option c?"
No, it has fewer than 100 pages and it has the genre "graphic novel" on the main page. It would be a good idea to check out the Rules of the Challenge to familiarize yourself with the requirements.

The first would certainly work, since Spirituality is a main page genre.
I am not so sure about the second - if the character is a "retired teacher," it's not clear that the plot is about a teacher or teaching. I would suggest that you ask about this one again when Dlmrose is back - another few days.

I am currently on page 63 of this book. If I start over, would it be eligible for the teacher option?

The book certainly sounds as if it would work for the task.
Did you start reading it before September 1? If so, then, yes, you'd have to start over, since it's not over 500 pages.

I am truly not trying to be contrary or argumentative, because it really would be simple to change my selection. However, I've read The Deptford Trilogy before, so I do know a bit about it. The book IS about a retired (just barely) teacher from a fictional college in Toronto, ON, Canada; but he is writing a letter to the headmaster of the College after a condescending article was written about him. Now even though the letter is an attempt to show that his life was not all about his being a lonely bachelor schoolmaster, the book is shot through with references and anecdotes of his becoming an academic and then a teacher. There is a lot of commentary on what he tries to teach, etc.

That's fine - I didn't say it didn't work, I said that you should ask Dlmrose when she returns, since the task doesn't call for a book with a retired teacher and the GR description gives very little information..

For option D, would Stoner work? The GR description doesn't mention it, but the main character becomes a uni lecturer during the course of the book (various reviews can testify to that - if I could work out how to link to them I would!)
Thanks

Stoner (1965) by John Edward Williams (Paperback, 278 pages)
At http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/bo... it says:
“Stoner follows the unexceptional and unglamorous life of William Stoner, a teacher of English literature – like Williams – at a second-rate university in American’s Midwest during the 1930s and 40s.”
