Justin Lang (JLang) | 4 comments I just discovered Bletchley Park. I didn't know the British were so advanced during WW2. I'm so looking forward to the new movie.
Alan Turing: The Enigma!

Justin, I am looking forward to it too. Bring on November. Do you enjoy audio books. I listened to the Audible version of Andrew Hodges biography of Alan Turing.

There are so many brilliant books covering the Bletchley story. I can wholeheartedly recommend Michael Smith's The Secrets of Station X: The Fight to Break the Enigma Cypher

Justin Lang (JLang) | 4 comments Thanks for the recommendation. I've read that one too and enjoyed it. I thought this article on io9 about Turing and his other research was interesting: io9 Can't wait for the movie!

Do you know when that will be Wendy? It's very exciting. I love all the images from the movie that are being drip fed to us to build anticipation.

Justin Lang (JLang) | 4 comments Just saw the movie. I thought the acting (Cumberbatch) was great, but the story felt odd. Maybe I've read so much about Bletchley I have preconceptions about the place.

It's already had an impact on visitor numbers and people are looking up more information about the true story. That's fab but it is unfortunate that some of the historical inaccuracies have left some people cold. I enjoyed it on an emotional level very much.

Justin Lang (JLang) | 4 comments I watched the film and enjoyed it. I preferred Robert Harris' Enigma book though. I'm fine with the fictionalization of history as long as it's entertaining!
