ABANDONED. Fantasy book with the main character being someone who can see spirits (who try to get him to join them) and has something on his skin to make it so when he touches someone he can kill them.

i believe the genre is fantasy possibly YA Fantasy. I remember a part where he leaped into water with a girl and that he was a big fan of the guitar and that he played in a band/group of his friends. He was always on the run because the spirits would track him down and cause trouble for him wherever he went. there is another part where he is at a party and gets into a fight (i believe it was a spirit) at the boat docks or down by the water. i am unsure of when i read it. within the last 6 years for sure (late middle school, full highschool) he always wore the leather gloves. please let me know if you could provide any more detail or the name/author of the book.
