Series numbering, parts later released as complete novel

Hi lethe, thanks for quick reply! Hmm... I remember seeing advice in the style of
#1A
#1B
#1C
applied specifically to parts later republished as one continuous/complete novel. Have you ever come across a series like that?
That numbering is more commonly used in the reverse case, where the complete work is published first, and parts later (or in translation).
Ah, ok! Thanks rivka, that could be what jogged my memory. I'll stick to the standard way with integers for the parts situation like my example then.
Eh? I thought in cases where the book is originally published in parts (Japanese novels spring to mind, such as The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Murakami), those get the whole number and the complete volumes (or translations) are seen as omnibus editions.
lethe, I'm not sure you address me or rivka, but I I have now numbered my example series the way you recommended in post #2, with whole numbers (integers) for the parts and treated the 'complete novel' as an omnibus edition.https://www.goodreads.com/series/2484...
Apologies to both of you, I think I misread. I thought you were going to do the books in msg #1 as 1A, 1B, 1C instead.

I remember reading advise how a series first released as parts, later released as a complete novel (not designated omnibus or box set) should be correctly 'series numbered' on Goodreads. But I can't find the post, so I wonder if any experienced series Librarian can help me out?
Example:
This is the original three parts
Curse of Blades: Book 1
Curse of Blades: Book 2
Curse of Blades: Book 3
This is the later released complete novel, consisting of all three parts (as mentioned on the copyright page of the book): Curse of Blades
Normally I would number the first releases #1, #2, #3 respectively and a proper omnibus #1-3 on the series page. But is it correct to number the 'parts' this way in this example?
