Khin Thein | 2 comments I am looking for a book translated in a different language and my guess is the book has to be written in English originally and I wanna know the English title if there is any. The story is based in 23rd century fictional world where at the end of every year, the world's best dancer gets the chance to light up the torch as a symbol of making the year's end in the festival. Every year they select the world's best dancer and as the story started, the main protagonist's name is "Juno". The book is mostly about art and literature against technology and science. there is not much storyline but the literature and writing style (in my language) is just amazing! So as the story goes, a group of scientists, led by one particular man called "Cepheus" introduced his dancing robot girl and asked the chance to compete against human dancers. It was mostly from the perspective of Juno and her path to find the way to win against the robot which has been modified to be able to dance in techniques which are impossible for normal humans to catch up to. In the end, she won against her by dancing elegantly using the light energy within her body and died with dignity, making everyone who ridiculed her including the scientist regret.
Thank you. My guess is the book has to be at least 10 years old.

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Khin, what language was the book in when you read it?

Was this book for children, teens, or adults?

Anything about the cover?

Khin Thein | 2 comments @Lark, i know right? it was one of the best books i have ever read.

@Tab, it was written in Burmese by one of the most well-known authors in Myanmar.
The book was for adults, and the cover was more like in a form of contemporary art.
