I'm so deep up in this series and just read the latest installment and I'm just so hooked ... Also another book that's still sticking with me since I've read it this summer was Black Privilege Opportunity Comes to Those Who Create It by Charlamagne Tha God ... this book was well written and very insightful..

Also, the Something In the Way series by Jessica Hawkins. That four book series was a rollercoaster of emotions for a year.

I really enjoyed that book a lot. Unfortunately, Kim Holden hasn't written any more books related to other characters in this book yet.

message 21: by Amy (new)

Amy (bookluvin) | 41 comments I commented on this a couple days ago, but I needed to add another book. I just finished
Hate Notes by Vi Keeland
It's easier if I just quote from by review...

"This book was beautiful. It's somehow allowed a male character to be sweet and vulnerable and not a wimp at the same time. I think that's kind of rare... Lots of times we read books to escape into fantasy. What I really liked about this book was that the situation could be someone's reality. People deal with the consequences of real diseases every day, and their decisions on how to handle those things are all different. Life is not black and white, they are all different shades of grey in between. The trick is finding which one is your shade of happiness. There were lots of things about this book, that had really nothing to do with the main storyline, that touched me on a very personal level..."

message 22: by M (new)

M | 6 comments I completely agree. I just finished reading last night. I have a close friend dealing with an MS diagnosis and while her response wasn’t as severe, she does struggle with the long term impact her diagnosis will have on those around her. I think the authors did a nice job making Reed realistic and loveable.

message 23: by M (new)

M | 6 comments It ends with us by Colleen Hoover sticks with me. She always sucks me in. I don’t want to give anything away to those who haven’t read it (I think it’s best to go in blind) but highly recommend it.

message 24: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 9 comments Hate Notes is absolutely the best. It has left me still thinking about Reed and Charlotte. I can’t remember when book left me with this many feelings. I agree 100% with Amy’s review.

I agree. This is a read that stays with you but I could never reread it. I find it hard to read again an emotional book like that. I'm still kind of mad why she had to go that way with the story line.

SassyFraz wrote: "Beauty and The Mustache - i always come back to this book"

Yes this book was written very beautifully and all the emotion hit home...
