Just saw someone posted on Facebook. I agree it will stir the pot with the big six with self-published authors now being able to do pre-sales just like they do. I'm quite excited about this.

I just saw a posting here for a pre-order. Wish they had done that a couple of months ago. I think it will be easier to create excitement for books coming out than it is to market them once they are on the market!

For what it's worth... for those that also want wider distribution than with KDP Select, Smashwords is also offering pre-ordering for eBook titles.

Hi all, i tried the Kindle 'Pre-Order' option on my recently published short story collection Impromptu Scribe and it worked well with the ability to heavily market it via email and social media a month prior to release date. The advantage being that you get a noticeable hike in sales from the outset that can catapult you up the Amazon sales rankings.

Cindy, i think you might be referring to the 'Read an Excerpt' facility to get a taster of a book, where the author can post a sample story or chapter. Icon sits below the book cover image e.g. Impromptu Scribe
