Heya folks...thanks for the assistance folks, much appreciated.Well, whilst not yet fully cured, but as it fast as this weird thing started so quickly...it's gone! Seriously..it's just....gone! 3 days...of sheer hell...but it's stopped, just like that, even the typical cold symptoms have all but gone, just some sniffles remaining....how utterly bizzare, even my hearing has come back...i usually lose some hearing for 3 three weeks or more after getting colds, but taste, smell and hearing..all returned...i even got a whole night sleep last night...amazing.....and i've only used 1 pill all told. Just so surreal. This morning..despite aching all over (and no it wasn't flu!, me leg muscles are stiff as boards from all the walking!), i felt ..normal.
I've never tried LSD..and will never want to, but after going through my weirdness, i think i have some idea what a bad acid trip experience feels like!
I've still no idea what the hell that virus was..but i'm just glad the bastard thing has gone, good riddance too! Still a bit weary..so i see yous lot soon...but letting you know i'm back to my usual chilled out self once again. Unfortunately..my mum is now showing the early symptomatic signs of this horrible thing...i just hope she doesn't develop the weirdness i got...but..at least we now do have that Diazapam safety net, if she needs them. So gunna watch over her for a few days, if need be.
Enjoy the tunes..maybe i'll have some time to listen and vote too.
TTFN
duke, glad you're over your viral episode, but if your mum is showing symptoms seek medical advice/assistance promptly! don't bung her any diazepam unless on medical advice - your mum, i imagine, is older than yourself and may not react similarly to the diazepam - if it's apparent she's contracted the same, get a home g.p. visit straight away, and don't put up with any of their shight about not offering such a service!! get them telt!!!
Tech wrote: "your mum, i imagine, is older than yourself."Quote of the day!
Glad to hear you're better, Duke.

Completely agree with tech, Duke. It can be dangerous to give Diazapam to older people, specially as you would have no idea of the dosage or its interaction with any other medication. Get a home visit asap to get a proper diagnosis and treatment.
After Gordon,"Let The Day Begin" - I remember buying the original version by The Call in the late 80s. An album that featured the late actor, Harry Dean Stanton, on harmonica IIRC.
Just read that Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's Robert Levon Been is the son of The Call's singer Michael Been, so the cover version now makes sense.

Good to hear you are well on the way to a full recovery Duke. I echo the sentiments of all above - don't assume anything re your Mum's reaction to this virus. Seek help immediately! Here's hoping we get an update on the two of you with nothing but good news! Take care of the both of you!
theDuke wrote: "at least we now do have that Diazapam safety net, if she needs them..."I know several people have said it already but... Please, please don't give your prescription drugs to other people. For diazepam specifically, the dose for elderly patients is lower (5 mg tablets are dangerous) and there are all sorts of other things the doctor would need to know before prescribing it. If you didn't need it for the event/condition it was prescribed for you should take it back to the pharmacist to be incinerated.

Hello! Okay okay..she ain't getting them! She doesn't need them anyway..as it doesn't look as if she's getting the same symptoms as i had...which leaves me to think, that this cold virus just triggered something psychological within me...but beggars comprehension as to what or why that happen. It's not as i'm particular worried about anything..after all i finally got my cataracts done this year! I can only assume that it's because i've had a inactive year this year, whist undergoing my cat ops, I missed the whole summer whilst recovering, so haven't really done this year. Oddly enough, just as we're heading toward the darkest months of the year, i now suddenly feel like i need to do something proactive! Don'cha just hate it when that happens?! I like to chill out in winter months..i ain't got the sight for it!
Maybe my subconscious was sending me a message, who knows?
Anyway..next year will be different..i got outdoor projects to return to & i wish to travel over the Pontcysyllte aquaduct one day..always wanted to go canal boating...4mph....nice and slooow..cos that's all can manage these days!! :)
Tech wrote: "your mum, i imagine, is older than yourself."I dunno how things are done in Scotland Tech....but down here in little Wales..as indeed i suspect most of the world.. biological mums tend to be older than their offspring! :)
And yes she is my birth mother.
But you're right..my GP gave me a higher dosage on account of my size...i'm a big chap at 6'5" and 17 stone...me mum is 5' 3"...i didn't think that one through...but needless to say..i don't think she'll needing anything anyway..she appears to just have normal cold symptoms, thank goodness.
Right, anyways..i'll should be okay to resume things on Sunday...thanks to everybody, for all the good wishes and assistance.

BJH would have got top points if the version from their first 1974 Live album (when they were a four piece) qualified. That's one of the best live versions of any song by anybody, this version isn't anywhere near as good.

Evening all. Well..whilst not fully back to normal..i'm doing a heck of lot better now, than I was a few days ago....sleeping like a baby once again..and that weird anxiety thing has ended..phew!Alas, I didn't get a good chance to listen to the playlist properly..but did like the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club song, amongst others. Nevermind..let's wrap this week up then...and it look's as if the ladies have the majority of the glory this week!
In first place, just a nose in front by one point, Love Like Feathers by Get Your Gun, wins it,so congratulations to Helen...yay! :)
And the best of the best, having scored 24 points...a song that the nominator thought would bomb, might have actually won it, if i'd got my votes in - Some Summers They Drop Like Flys (sic) by Dirty Three, did a lot better than she presumed...so well done Lez!
And round things up, the song i'd most probably would've given my max points to, but still would've come in at 3rd, Let The Day Begin by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, nominated by Steve.
Congrats to all the winners, especially Helen.
I think i'll give this playlist a good listen..and just for my own amusement..I'll add my votes later.
Thanks to Spacepig for temporarily taking charge, but the Dukester is back..again! I must admit, I do now feel a bit silly....I dunno what that bloody thing was..but it only lasted a few days..still..i hope I never get it again..once is quite enough! :)
And whilst they don't count now..here's what my votes would've done to the scores...sorry Lez..you would've been the one celebrating this week:Dirty Three - 5

Did like the Blue Cheer cover, but I think the Cochran original is still the best.
Surprised Get Your Gun did so well. I love his voice and can recommend both of their albums. They are on Bandcamp but downloads only I think. I bought my cd versions from Amazon.
