Oh, I could have sworn it was November 1 so I've been checking all day! Hopefully tomorrow then.

I noticed it like 20-30 minutes after it was released went straight in here and you were already setting up folders :-) So excited to see the new list.
Did they ask for suggestion again this year or??? It's always fun to see if some of your own suggestions made it on to the list.

Yes, we did send them a collection of suggestions from the group. Nadine, the spreadsheet queen, assembled them and put some sort of order to it :) Hopefully we will see a few prompts that came from us :)

You can find it here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

If your dreams are anything like mine they were probably like, "Read the same book to 20 three year olds" or "Read a book while making a perfect omelette" and then you were wondering what you'd gotten yourself into. :-D

@Cendaquenta
Thanks for that image! It captures my feeling so perfectly! :D

It's Around The Year and has 52 prompts with one for every week. I found this one after committing to this one. I did crossover about half of my read books but still have 18 prompts left. I have 2 left to read for this year's pop sugar challenge then will devote the rest of the year to ATY. Thank you for posting the link Mie.
Mie, I've spent the past 3 hours filling my prompts LOL

I really like the prompts and am going to try to fill at least 75% of the prompts with classics and non fiction/historic.

This years Popsugar challenge better be worth waiting for! 😉

I thought one year (possibly 2016) the list was released November 7, so fingers crossed, it's in the next couple days.

I've done the same! I have all my prompts filled except for 4, 2 of which go together. I'm anxious to get started. I still want to see pop sugar's prompts as this was the one that got me back into reading again.

In the meantime I'm google searching Popsugar reading challenge 2019 at least once a day...anxiously awaiting the prompts too!
I've already planned my ATY & A-Z 2019 Reads so just twiddling my thumbs and reading for now!

The ATY prompts are selected by members of the group. People suggest prompts and then members of the group vote on them in a series of polls (16 of them this year).

It's a challenge that can be done multiple ways but the idea is that each letter of the alphabet is a prompt. :)
You could do it by authors' first name, authors' last name, book title, name of an object on the cover etc.
In 2019 I'm planning on doing it with name of objects on the book cover so for example...
A-Arrow-I'll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios
B-Bleachers-Like It Never Happened by Emily Adrian
C-Car-Last Year's Mistake by Gina Ciocca
D-Domino-The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

For next year, I'd prefer to do the PS Challenge and maybe pledge a few categories from the ATY, but not necessarily all.

Conny, I tried to do both as well and still have 17 prompts left to go on ATY. I have one left for this challenge. My goal is to do both again next year but the ATY has me more interested now.

Looks like we're pretty much dead even with the challenges, you and me^^
I never tried two prompt-based challenges in a year before, and it is a bit much, seeing as I also read some books that do not fit any of the prompts. My reading goal of 100 books per year is ambitious enough as it is :D

You don't have to do ATY in order. I wouldn't be signing up for it if that was the case as I am very much a mood reader.

Lots of those of us who do ATY do not do the prompts in order. I juggle several challenges... and to make that manageable, I may count a book in several challenges which doesn't work if you are trying to read in order.

I'm going to check that one out as well. Thanks!

Last year after I finished Pop Sugar, I went through my 'read' list of books for the year and figured out how many had titles fitting the A-Z challenge. There were only 4 letters not covered, which I managed before year end. I'm going to do the same this year, but maybe using author last names rather than titles.
My approach is to just read whatever I want without a lot of planning. Of course, some planning is always needed for certain prompts. But even there this year, I happened upon books that intrigued me and they just happened to fit those more challenging prompts. I'm going to approach 2019 the same way.

I think that's about when this yea..."
They've been pretty consistent the past few years. If I remember correctly, it's always been December 15. That's why I wish PopSugar would give us a specific (or even approximate) date. At least that way we'd have an idea of when to expect it.

I know, right? It was out by this time last year. You would think they are Apple releasing a new iPhone.

I'll still do Popsugar when it comes out - I was already considering doing two challenges anyway. It'll be a fun extra level to try and cross-pollinate between the lists!
