wosedwew | 367 comments This happened to me in early December, so I'm trying to remember the steps. You should be able to access GoodReads from your Kindle.

I think I did this:

1. Update the missing book on GR on the PC or tablet (even if you haven't read any yet) so that you are sure the book shows up in GR when you open your Kindle
2. Open GR on the kindle and find that update
3. Click on the cover should open on the Kindle
4. Click on "view in store"
5. At that point, since Amazon believed I already had the book, there was a box called "read"
6. Click on that box and the book downloaded to the Kindle

I only had this happen 3-4 times a while ago

Debbie (dmbrown) | 633 comments Or...
1. Go to Manage Content and Devices
2. Scroll down and click on the book you bought and are missing
3. Click the option to Deliver to whichever device you want it on.

DONE!

wosedwew | 367 comments Oddly … that method didn't work for me when I had this problem.
No idea what was wrong. I had checked that the "deliver to" was set to default to Rose's Kindle …

I bought A Work of Art, too, and it showed up on my Kindle. Maybe try powering completely down and then starting again to see if it shows up or go on Amazon to your Manage Devices page to click on the book and get it re-sent to your Kindle.

Patricia | 111 comments it worked going onto goodreads on kindle. this was so weird. I have never had this happen before

thank you all for suggestions and advice! :)

Elin Eriksen (vaarin) | 245 comments I had no problem with Work of Art but something happened to my kindle app in the beginning of December. Suddenly, none of my books were downloaded and several of my shelves were gone. Irritating because I had my books sorted by many different categories, making it easier to find the ones I was seadching for. In addition, many of the books I already own doesn't show as already bought when I search for new ones...

Elin Eriksen (vaarin) | 245 comments seadching should be searching...

J. W. Garrett (jeannewallacegarrett) | 1252 comments I haven't looked that closely at my Kindle app, Elin. I have noticed books I bought through Amazon are not showing that I own them. I've gone to manage my content to verify I did in fact buy a book. Whether it was just a cover change or a publisher change or both.. Amazon should show that I own a book or the title by that author. I've even searched and found my review so it transferred smoothly. I know I have bought more than one book at least twice. I don't get it.

James S | 17 comments Looking for a particular book. I remember reading a book where Lizzy and Darcy marry kind of a spur in the moment. Mr. Bennet goes to Darcy House looking for help or for Lizzy, not sure which, and Darcy answers the door in a poor choice of clothes. Bennet asks him a question and Lizzy sticks her head out from behind Darcy and says “papa?”. It’s a funny scene and would like to reread it. Any help would be appreciated.

wosedwew | 367 comments It's an Abigail Reynolds -- I will check her listings

message 211: by wosedwew (new)

wosedwew | 367 comments I think it is To Conquer Mr. Darcy

Abigail Reynolds has two books very similar. It might be Impulse and Initiative.

message 213: by James (new)

James S | 17 comments Nope, that’s not the one. They do marry but Darcy tells Bennet at the Gardiners house. And he is NOT happy. 😂

That was pretty close though. 👍🏻

message 214: by wosedwew (new)

wosedwew | 367 comments Hmmm … I'll think some more on it. I know I have read one where Mr. Bennet catches them at Darcy House after their wedding.

James S | 17 comments I wish I had started a diary of standout scenes or plots when I started reading JAFF. Oh well, the past is past and cannot be changed. Started such a diary last Dec. 1st

message 217: by James (new)

James S | 17 comments I just went through the two books. They do marry quickly but the scene where Bennet finds out is not our query. Good idea though. I checked the Kincaid book where they marry in France. Wasn’t that one either.

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 769 comments This sounds interesting, James. I don't remember reading any story like that so if you find out which one it was I would like to know also and read it. I have read all of A. Reynolds and it doesn't sound like any of hers.
