I agree its too early though. I don't know why they don't do it in January so it can be all of 2018 books, not mostly 2018 & a few from the last month or 2 of 2017

And that was my thought exactly when I saw it was there again!!! Why not the end of November at least?

I voted in several sections. There were a few outstanding books there - and a few really difficult choices!!!
I only voted in a few of the sections where I really liked a book. Hadn't read anything at all in the 'Fiction' section. Always good to find a few books to add to next year's reading list!
I voted in the first several, then a couple of odd ones down the list - probably about 6 I guess :)
I hate to sound cynical, but they probably do this now to get the lists out there in time for Xmas shopping...I can’t remember the actual percentages but a significant proportion of annual book sales happen in Nov-Dec
Off to vote now, and to add books to my TBR probably!
Icewineanne wrote: "Best of the best category is way too large...." I agree - I got sick of scrolling! Is that a special category for the 10 year anniversary? I don’t remember voting on that before.
I agree the Best of the Best was much too big. And a bit silly since the books were not comparable with each other!
Well I did it but felt I was voting for all the same books. I guess that means most of my original favourites made it through to this round!
I see the final results are out. https://www.goodreads.com/choiceaward...Still Me by Jojo Moyes won best fiction, The Outsider by Stephen King best thriller and The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah best historical novel.
One of my choices, Educated by Tara Westover was first in the memoir section.
I also voted for All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr for best all time fiction and it came in second (yay!) after The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas which has been much talked about this year.
I think Phrynne will be happy to see that Vengeful by V.E. Schwab won the SF section!
None of mine made it - but I am a niche reader so that is unsurprising. I had high hopes for The Clockmaker's Daughter though brilliant book.
