I love reading horrible books on occasion, just for this kind of reminder. Remember Kate - whenever you doubt your abilities, think about the fact that someone spent money to make a movie about a tornado full of sharks.

And that movie about a... again... I have to repeat this... TORNADO OF SHARKS was watched but 1.37 million viewers when it premiered.

I think you should try for another book if you have an ebook reader, or try to read the book from the point of view of trying to find all of the mistakes - it might make it easier than if you were reading it as an actual work of fiction.
