Abigail (abigailadams26) | 128 comments I was hoping someone could create a series for "Shadows and Light," a collection of original fairy-tales. The order of the books should be:

The White Hare
Mother Cary's Butter Knife
The Selkie's Mate
Elias Martin

If you could also fix the title of The White Hare? It mistakenly says it is the second book, but I am holding a copy in hand, and it is clearly the first (they're listed on the back, with numbers). Thank you!

ETA: and it looks like the second, Mother Cary's Butter Knife, also has an incorrect title. It should be the first? Actually, perhaps the series should be taken out of the title fields altogether?

Hi there. Thank for doing that, but The White Hare should be the first book, and Mother Cary's Butter Knife the second. I have the books in front of me physically, and that's how they're listed on the covers.

Stine Berg (stiinee) | 579 comments I found these books on amazon too:
https://www.amazon.com/Mother-Carys-B...

On Amazon "Mother Cary's Butter Knife" is listed as book 2 (product detail) and "the white hare" as book 1. I was a bit unsure what was right... but maybe ask the author directly about this?

But I fixed the number, so The White Hare are for example book 1 now, etc. :)

Thanks for fixing that. Mother Cary's Butter Knife is listed as book 2 on the books too.

Abigail (abigailadams26) | 128 comments Also, could I ask you to take the series description out of the title field of The Selkie's Mate (Shadows & Light, #3? I'd appreciate it!

It was just missing its end parentheses. Fixed.

However, I am unsure these books meet the Goodreads standard for a series. Do they have any characters in common? A common theme is not enough.

Abigail (abigailadams26) | 128 comments Thank you for fixing that title, Rivka. Having now read the second book (they're like picture-book short stories), I can report that they aren't a series, in the GR sense. They don't share characters, or cover a continuous story-arc. They're listed as a series on the books themselves, and when I made the request I had only read the first. So perhaps the series listing should be taken away?

Thanks for confirming. Imprint information can be added to the edition field, so I have done that. Removed from the title fields, and deleted series page.

Abigail (abigailadams26) | 128 comments Thanks, Rivka. I'm sorry to have put everyone to some unnecessary trouble. I really thought it was a series, from the way the way the books were listed on the back cover.

No worries. Sometimes determining whether a group of books is really a series can only be done by someone who has actually read them. So it's great that you were able to help with that.
