Vicki (vicki46) | 52 comments I know I asked to have more time already, but I cannot find the thread. I am so grateful to have a book group to read this with, but my brain is fried. I also want to digest all the information in the book. I know I won't remember it all, but the slower I go, the more I remember.
I stopped reading "Cure Unknown" to really concentrate on this book. But "Cure Unknown" will go faster. LOL, yes, I do think both books may have had the same cover designer!
I love that parts of "Cure Unknown" are memoir. She's a fantastic writer and really makes the story engaging.

Totally! Vicki I am going to space these out more. Would you prefer fewer chapters (1-2) at a time or a bunch (5-6) with a longer reading window in between."?

Maryruth | 4 comments I'm way behind also. I just have to go at my own pace. I also have no idea how to look at the comments of the past discussions. I want to comprehend all that I'm reading so I have to take my time.

Maryruth | 4 comments fewer chapters from myself

Vicki (vicki46) | 52 comments One or two chapters at a time, definitely! This book is fabulous but intense! Thank you so much! And thanks for starting this group!

Is "Cure Unknown" next? I am looking forward to that and also to the Kharrazzian books.

I have a bunch of other thyroid books I need to read and several other Lyme books! I downloaded this presentation called "The Thyroid Summit" and I want to read Isabella Wentz ("The Roots of Hashimoto's or something like that), the new Suzy Cohen thyroid book, the new "Stop the Thyroid Madness," and a bunch of others, such as Chris Kresser's "Personal Paleo Code," Steven Buhner's Lyme book, etc. I am going nuts with all the stuff I have to read. I think Ben Lynch (the MTHFR gene guy--I'm sure you already knew that, but I'm just putting it in for other people who may not have heard of him) is coming out with a book too. I also ordered "The Paleo Approach" and it is a tome! Oh my God. As you can see, I tend to overwhelm myself with stuff to read, so this book group is perfect for me! I would really rather read novels all the time, and I have to force myself to read health books, so group support is ideal.

I was going to set up a poll as we wrap up Dr. Horowitz to see what folks want to read next. Cure Unknown is at the top of my list though :)

Okay, how about this updated schedule? I think these chapters really all go together and will keep the conversation focused. :)

Vicki (vicki46) | 52 comments I am hoping to be finished with 5 by then! Where is everyone else?

Vicki, its crickets in here. Glad to have your company. :)

The Admins of the original facebook group announced their own book club about a week after this one got started so I think folks may have gotten confused. Oh well.

Vicki (vicki46) | 52 comments It is a bit silent. Do you want me to post about it somewhere? I think it might get too big if we posted it on Lymenet or Twitter.

I think the more the merrier, we can always make the group private if it starts to get too big. Thanks!

Vicki (vicki46) | 52 comments Hiya Rebecca, sorry again, but I can only finish 6-8 by next week but not 6-9 ... my brain cannot process a lot of scientific information at once. I don't have a science background at all. Also, the following week it says to read more than 100 pages by the 19th. Can we slow it down a bit more? I know it's important to get through these books, but this particular one is really dense. I think the others will go much faster.

Hey Vicki! I am happy to go at your speed, especially since it's so quiet in here. Want to just reply with your preferred schedule and I'll update it? :)

message 18: by Vicki (new) - added it

Vicki (vicki46) | 52 comments Awesome! I think I can finish 8 by the end of the week.
