I'm so sorry to hear this. It's been on my tbr for quite some time, but not readily available at my library. Just never got around to requesting ILL for it. You're right ... it could have / should have been a great story.

Ooof. Fascinating subject, but it was fairly low on my TBR list. I so rarely say this, but I may just watch the movie instead. Thanks for the review!

The story of 3 young Aboriginal girls who were ripped from their family, imprisoned in the "white man's" settlement so they could be taught culturally white.
This book could have been, should have been a great story. Instead it was an unreadable mess. The editor, the beta readers, all should be ashamed. The biggest sinner-the author, who is the daughter of one of the girls in the story.
Thank god it was only 135 pages.
