I remember hating how the author switched him around from bad guy to good. He was a good bad guy...I don't know why she had to change his whole character so far into the story. I don't like it.

Yes, Warner was a good bad guy but I also think that we now see the full picture of who Warner really is. I think like Warner told Juliette, she made assumptions about him and they were wrong. I like this Warner. I don't like the new Adam.

Lol Poor Adam :)
Lol Poor Adam :)

I agree. Adam is being sooo whiny. I just want to thank him for making it easier to like Warner

His behavior was crazy. It didn't make sense.

Exactly. His behavior definitely went downhill. What prompted the sudden change of character?

Maybe finding out that he wasn't really immune to Juliette's powers and that they couldn't really be a match.

Huh. Honestly, that probably is the reason. Finding out that touching the girl you love could kill you is pretty devastating.

Is there another book after this I've?

Yes, it is on my shelf.
is the next one. It is on my shelf. We can start when you are finished. Juliette has definitely come into her own. I like the change in her.

I am so glad that Tahereh Mafi continued this story. I wanted to see what was going to happen with Juliette and Warner. Juliette was thrusted into a situation that she was not really prepared for. She is not really trained on how to be a Commander. Yes, she has the physical power but she needs help with the other aspects. My question is why aren't they helping her. They just threw her in the deep end of the pool and said swim...of course she doesn't really know what she is doing?

It is an interesting change.

Omg! What just happened? That was crazy.
For me, the first two books in this series were amazing...book three was okay, and this one wasn't much better. I'm just not in love with it. I think the biggest let down for me was how much the characters were changed to fit the course of the story rather than letting the characters write the story... (view spoiler)
I know I'm the minority here, lol. I went back through and read some of the other reviews, and it seems everyone loves Warner :) The world building was good in this book, finally finding out more about the past and how the world got where it was.

I love Warner in the later books but I love him as a whole different character. That was not the Warner of the first 2 books. And I completely agree with you when you say she writes the characters to match the books and not the books to the characters.

I can see your points Sheri. I hated Warner then I felt guilty for liking him and now I can't see Juliette with anyone else. I look at it that we now see the whole picture...what we knew of Warner in the first book was that he was evil, but that wasn't the true picture of him. I did struggle with Juliette's insecurity in this book, but she is in a situation that she is ill prepared for. Juliette is still a strong character that at times allows her insecurities to rule her. The whole hair cutting incident reminded me of Brittany Spears when she cut her hair. I still like this series.
Any suggestions on what we can read next once Vaughn is finished?

Lol I was thinking of Brittany Spears, too. And finding out about Juliette's past was a twist I didn't see coming!

For sure! We knew the Re-establishment had an agenda...we just didn't know what all that entailed until this book.

I still absolutely love the series though. The ending caught me by surprise.

The kids all have a snow day today...Even the college is closed. I kind of wish I didn't work at home so I could call in, too! Lol
