Somehow I completely missed this book/series being released, so I am looking forward to reading this. I am actually quite behind on my Cassandra Clare novels, but this will be another one down! So far I like "seeing" the familiar faces of Magnus, Alec, and Tessa. I know it's Alec's personality, but I wish he wasn't so prickly. Magnus is really fun, though. I guess they balance each other well. (hide spoiler)]

I am finding this book to be slow so far. Not that much has happened except Magnus is being accused of leading a dangerous cult. Him and Alec haven't found that many clues yet, so there is no clear direction of where they need to go. The disastrous party was kind of interesting with the warlocks fighting. I like the more upbeat almost goofy feel this book has. I know there are serious parts, like trying to defeat a cult, but having Magnus around provides some comic relief. I love his personality and how he always goes over the top. I also never trusted Shinyun, and it turns out that I was right not to. I was suspicious from the start because I couldn't figure out what her purpose was, so I guessed that she was probably involved with Crimson Hand. (hide spoiler)]

This book was a little slow to start, but when things finally picked up, they really picked up! I really liked the last 25%. Overall, I enjoyed learning more about Magnus's background (I still need to read The Bane Chronicles!!). I honestly adore Magnus and Alec, so this was a fun read. Helen and Aline at the end were also super cute! Ahhhh I need to read the second book soon cause of that cliffhanger! (hide spoiler)]
