Late 70's early 80's fantasy novel. The cover featured a man holding a sword over his head (conan style) with a monster claw as a glove. He cut the claw off of a creature and wore it as a glove. I believe it also gave him powers. I may be mistaken, but I also think there were 6 "fingers" on the claw

I believe this is The Sunset Warrior by Eric van Lustbader. If not this first book, one of the sequels.
