Hannah | 1 comments So I don’t know if anyone will see this or even know the answer, but in what year(s) does the tog series take place? There’s castles, kings and queens and the way the clothing is described makes it seem to be the 1600-1700s but then it talks about bathtubs with running water and other modernized things??

Gaby | 36 comments Throne of Glass is a different world than earth so it doesn’t follow the rules and technological profession of our world. It’s a completely separate fantastical universe invented by Sarah J. Maas, like many fantasy books.

Nikita I honestly never gave it too much thought because it would be too confusing and since it is fictional world of magic, it can be a mixture between medieval and little modern stuff. Now my head hurts.

Katie O | 4 comments I've always pondered this, too! Because it is a fantasy second-world series I always just put it under the blanket term of "medieval" in my mind so I wouldn't get too confused haha. I'd like to think that it takes inspiration from perhaps Renaissance Europe? Not sure though (don't quote me on that!)

To be honest, I haven't thought about the year progression of the series. I just love the books
