SEVEN group read, week four (Ch.s 19-24)

Chapter 22 - the adventure on the helicopter. Stone got away with Thirteen, but Nine is not done yet. Nine wakes up Thirteen.

I have another quibble in this chapter. If Nine is powerful enough to reverse Thirteen's brain damage and direct Stone's body to fall where he wants it to (and save Thirteen from the helicopter wreck, given that the next book in this series is called "Thirteen"), why can't he crash the helicopter himself?

Thirteen is very tough and brave, especially since he thinks he is going to die.

Chapter 23 - we are into the falling action part of the story. Chase, Seven, Three, and Four go to a diner and listen to the news. Stone is dead (yay!) and so are the pilots. No mention of a dead teenager.

Apparently Nine also turned off the power around the waste management plant where he dropped Stone's body. The author gave into the temptation to make Nine too powerful in my view.

Chapter 24 - The end. Everyone has to scatter and hide to stay out of the way of the government. The ending would be a little too open ended for me, but since this is the start of a series, it works.

I know I completely disappeared. Real life kept me off of GoodReads (actually off the internet altogether - feeling very lost, lol) completely and now it looks like I missed out on the whole group read. :( I had to set the book aside, but I look forward to picking it back up when I have the time to dig into it. Reading a half chapter here and there doesn't seem to really work for this one.
