Well I still have to edit my Hour update and my bingo, but... I just finished my first book! Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.

Right now I´m listening City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab, 15/27 chapters listened already, while I update everything in here, I complete some challenges...

message 57: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok. DNFing City of Ghosts. I´m not following the story so I´m not going to continue it.

I need a break and then I will be reading The dark descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein

message 58: by [deleted user] (last edited Oct 27, 2019 05:24AM) (new)

Final update!

(I still need to edit the hour and bingo post)

Hours read: 13 hours and a half

Books finished:
- Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman (3 stars)
- The dark descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White (3 stars)

Books started:
- City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab (DNF)
- Into the drowning deep by Mira Grant

Pages read (approximately): 909 pages

It´s the first time I read an audiobook in the Dewey´s. I had a bad experience because I barely kept the concentration. I think it would have been better if I had just read a physical copy. Now I know.

Great job! I have to listen to short audiobooks, like the Audible Originals or kids books, during readathons.

Now I know one thing: never drink coffee at night during a readathon, Marta. I went to sleep at 2am.... and finally I did it at 5am. It was a nightmare. I have only slept 4 hours because my body was already awake... So now I´m listening to an audiobook while I cheer everyone and trying to stay focused.

Cynda wrote: "Marta,I have just discovered Neil Gaiman in last couple of years. If you read Neverwhere, Iwoukd be interested in hearing a thought or two :)"

Hi! I just checked my rating of Neverwhere and I thought that I rated it more than 3 :( Sometimes that happens, that I rate a book, and time after that I consider the book more enjoyable than before!

For instance, I really liked Neverwhere: the "underworld", the connections between characters... For me now is a 3.5-4 star book, but aparently not last year!

From Neil Gaiman I only read The Ocean at the end of the Lane (which was so weird to me that I was on a hiatus from reading anything else from the author), The Graveyard Book (one of my faves from 2020!!) and Good Omens. I want to read more from him. What about you?

message 100: by [deleted user] (new)

I DNF the audiobook of My Dark Vanessa because IT IS TOO MUCH. I´ve been listening to it for a month and I´m not ready to listen to all of the romantized abuse.

I spent 1 hour playing the sims 4, and now I will have dinner and then read Lumberjanes 3 and 4. Simple, entertaining... and then maybe continue with The Lost World
