Sandra | 31627 comments Rita, after looking at 25 to 30 editions of that isbn on WorldCat, all of which have 417 pages, I came across one with 310 pages.

So it is obviously not the common edition which most people have, therefore I don't think we should change the existing edition, but instead just add a note to the existing one.

We don't generally add a new edition if the page numbers or years differ and the cover & isbn remains the same.

That said 107 pages is a big jump, so what do other librarians think?

Emily | 17759 comments Perhaps it is the smaller book club edition or something. I wouldn't change the primary edition with that big of a gap.

The other thing to check is the source of the current page count. In this case, it was done by a librarian at the same time as at least one edit. And has not been changed in almost 9 years.

I would be against changing it.

Sandra | 31627 comments I didn't consider changing it, but should we add a librarian note or a note in the description?
