WHAT ON GODS GREEN EARTH WOULD MAKE A WRITING WEBSITE STEP INTO POLITICS. YOU PEOPLE NEED YOUR HEADS EXAMINED. There are political websites for this, not writing, Here we MUST share a bond of creativity and being of one, not causing division and hate. I am COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED

Alexis Harding | 1386 comments Cool it Cee. I'm sure GB meant no harm

Thanks Alexis.
In reply I quote:
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.~ Edmund Burke

In a free world, one should be able to voice out one's opinion and have a healthy discussion. As writers, one needs to be aware of the world not hide in a cocoon in fear.

Sandra Black | 1737 comments I agree GB. Let's not be the ostriches that bury their heads in the sand.

Sandra Black | 1737 comments Hurray to the winners. Adore the new folders.

message 418: by Peter (new)

Peter Martuneac | 38 comments Not sure if this is the right folder, but my KDP Select term is ending for my book and I’m not sure if I should re-enroll. I’ve gotten a lot of exposure through the program, but the exclusivity means I can’t distribute my book through places like WattPad.

Anyone have any opinions/experiences with this?

message 419: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Habbie | 1912 comments Well Peter, if you have the required exposure, maybe you can manage it without them now?
I opted out of it when I couldn't access my books for that period.

message 420: by Sandra (last edited Jul 02, 2019 04:23AM) (new)

Sandra Black | 1737 comments It's the best platform that exists for independent authors. But it is limited in scope.

message 421: by Peter (new)

Peter Martuneac | 38 comments Thanks for the input! I might renew it one more time to see how it goes, it’s served me well so far. And I do most of my promoting here on Goodreads and my blog.

Well that's good. But you must try more social media. Facebook & Twitter let you do it for free !

message 425: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Catherine, did your favorite players win? One of mine did, Novak Djocovich (I think that's how you spell his name) I wish Osaka had lasted, but there's the US Open.

And I'm not going to be a bad influence and entice you to try bottled tea. Stay clear, it rules your life. If it were alcohol, I'd be in trouble--LOL!

Crocheting is a stress reliever--now this I will entice you to try. I sell the baby blankets as gifts.

message 426: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Habbie | 1912 comments Djokovic you mean? I enjoy the game for what it is and appreciate a good match when I see one, irrespective of who is playing.
I do try fresh ginger tea on most days that I'm not too lazy to make it 😁
I shall however leave Crochet and it's joys to you. Perhaps be enticwd to just buy some only 😊

message 431: by Bradley (new)

Bradley Simon | 1028 comments This kind of sensationalism seems more in tune with tabloids like the SUN?

message 432: by Bernard (new)

Bernard Smith | 3030 comments The Times likes to avoid coarse sensationalism, but still has to sell papers, and "sex always sells". So it takes a more subtle approach.

Gosh! If that's subtle, I shudder to think what the SUN prints!

message 434: by Bernard (new)
