Did you know:
Stonehenge in England was where Thomas Hardy set the crucial scenes of Tess of the D'Urbervilles?

Origins of Valentine’s Day:
Every February 14, around the world, candy, flowers and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint, and where did these traditions come from? Find out about the history of this centuries-old holiday, from ancient Roman rituals to the customs of Victorian England.
The Legend of St. Valentine:
The history of Valentine’s Day–and the story of its patron saint–is shrouded in mystery. We do know that February has long been celebrated as a month of romance, and that St. Valentine’s Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. But who was Saint Valentine, and how did he become associated with this ancient rite.
Who Was the Real St. Valentine?
The Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred. One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome. When Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine’s actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death.

It's the perfect day for it.

Happy Vday to all.
PS. GB, the massive cupid( Homepage) is an inspiration👌
It’s Valentine’s day. And, as usual, my predication towards procrastination has landed me in the position of having bought nothing for my wife, a condition I will correct by stopping by Target before I go home. That couch is not very comfortable.
I decided to take it easy on my husband this year. Picked up some filet mignon, went crazy on flowers and made a couple of big bouquets, they are gorgeous! Getting wise in my older age. Just buy what I want and take the headache out of seeing if he gets what I want. XD If I'm lucky he'll have some extra flowers or something sweet for me. The best part is always spending time with him anyway. Hope y'all have a wonderful, Happy Valentine's Day!
Great idea Zuzu. We must pick a leaf from your book when the time comes. Hope he is not reading this though?

I always suspected that! Stories were told by word of mouth, long before the Grimm Brothers or Aesop came along...🤔
