David A (lancer_325) | 2 comments Am reading Tacitus' annals and I now know where Stalin got his inspiration from having just read the piso affair to do with Nero.

Jack | 3 comments I read Cleopatra: A Life by Stacy Schiff recently. Very good book that I highly recommend.

Jack | 3 comments I also completed the Meditationsby Marcus Aurelius. I thought that was an interesting read as well.

Chris (chris1946) | 1 comments I am reading Invisible Romans by Robert C Knapp. A lot has been written about the leaders of the Roman Empire, emperors, senators, writers and poets. However this book is about the other 99% of the population, the ordinary people, the landowners and the merchants. I am interested in social history and in the Roman empire so hopefully this book will satisfy both my interests.
