I have started reading Part 2 - Gargi and once again this section like Jivan's - getting the reader to feel some empathy for Gargi but the reader begins to see as in Part 1, there is unrest/betrayals/secrets brewing that says "beware" there is more than meets the eye.I am so into this story and the author is definitely keeping me intrigued.
Hugh wrote: "Thanks Beverly. I found it easier to sympathise with Gargi than with some of the others."I would after to agree with you.
After reading Gargi's section and the beginning of Rahda's, I am thinking that Gargi puts too much faith/trust in others and this in-fighting is really going to get vicious.
After all that Gargi has had on her shoulders since a young girl - it seems she has never really lived for herself or be allowed to be herself.
I have finished Part 3 - Radha's story. And what a story it was - At first I did not know if Radha was playing at appearing being unaware so she could be in the know. But the reality was much worse than that. She was so abused mentally and physically and just wound so tight that it seems like she can only tolerant herself being high on alcohol or drugs.
I feel the writing is so vibrant that it rolls before your eyes like watching a movie where you cannot take your eyes off the screen because you will miss some important descriptive details.
All of the tension that was building at a steady pace just cannot contain itself anymore. At the beginning I felt some humor - like in the airplane and the airport and the whole runaround that happened building up to the Tuesday night parties and as we got closer to the point that the underlying tension just seems to burst forth.
Thanks Beverly - I am glad you are still finding it interesting. I did feel that the Radha section followed the events of the original too closely to be entirely believable, but I understand why Taneja did that. I will be very interested in how you get on with Jeet's section.

And there was a lot of "drama" to it but I glad for the drama in a story as it took my mind off all the drama with the US elections.
