Hi all, I have acquired a Galaxy S5 and I have struggled to find an app for podcast subscription anywhere near as clean and simple as Apple's own. anyone have a suggestion?

I was seconds away from recommending Instacast when I thought of confirming that it has an Android version... but lo and behold... it's only available for iOS -_-
I give a strong recommendation for Beyondpod. I've been using it a good while now, and it's pretty awesome. Using it to find podcasts is very hit and miss, but as long as you're fine with inserting rss feeds manually it does bang-up job of managing your subscrptions!
I use Dogcatcher which I rather like. As was said for Beyond, sometimes you have to add the rss manually although I've been able to find 95% of what I listen to with the search function
I use AntennaPod. I like it because it's open source, which is important to me, and because it's got variable speed playback. I find it simple to use with my huge number of feeds. I'm not sure how it compares to Apple's.
I've used a bunch. Shifty Jelly's Pocket Casts is easily my favourite. It's not free, but I'm such a heavy user it's money well spent.
I also use Beyond Pod. In my opinion it's the best. However there are a ton of options making it a little cluttered.
I use Pocket Casts. Seems to work fine.
I use Pocket Casts and I have always really liked it. I first tried it when it was the Amazon App of the day years ago. I then bought it for iOS (waste of money really as I don't actually use iOS anymore but I have never regretted the purchase). And then I bought it from the Play store after it was removed from Amazon (didn't really need to but I felt like supporting the developer). I tried BeyondPod but never really glommed on to it and I paid for Doggcatcher years ago and never really liked it as much as I like Pocket Casts.
I love Doggcatcher. I listen to my podcasts at 1.5x speed and it pitch corrects - allows me to listen to more of them without chipmunking
Pocket Casts. It is the best I could find. Works great with chromecast too so you can cast your video podcasts to you tv and it keeps track of what you watched. I have tried almost all of them and it is the one I settled on.
I have been using PodKicker for the past several years. There is a free and a paid version. The paid version is very reaaonably priced. I recommend that you download some of the free ones and try them out. Then once you find the one that you like, get the paid version which will remove any limitations and ads.
