Speaking of Maeve, she seemed to be surprised that Sarah considered her to be part of their family and her home was now Maeve’s home. Do you think she now understands the depth of their feelings for her? Given her history, do you think she can accept and embrace these relationships?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments She certainly was surprised when both Sarah and Mrs. Ellsworth told her she was part of the family. She's also smart enough to know when she has a good thing and people care for her, she won't throw it back in their faces.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments It was so sweet once she realized that Sarah and Mrs. Ellsworth truly care for her.

There seems to be a bit of a contradiction in Maeve's characterization here. On the one hand, she comes from a family of grifters and from what I know of these types of families, they are very loyal and don't put members out on the street.

On the other hand, Maeve's family threw her out. I have to wonder if there is more to this than meets the eye.

Up until this story, I got the impression that Maeve came from a dog-eat-dog family existence. To your point, Lauren, grifters generally have to trust their partners in order for the con to work so it does beg the question of what really happened before she came to the home.

Whatever the circumstances, that showering of emotion seemed to put her off balance and it was lovey to experience her reaction.
