Kvote:
Carrot Top -- partly because of the red hair and partly because of the whole unreliable narrator theme that's going on throughout the book.Otherwise, I'm fine with Alexander's other picks...
I read somewhere that Dylan Moran should play Elodin and couldn't agree more! Most people probably know him from Shaun of the Dead, but only people that have seen Black Books will understand how perfect he is.

And Devi i pictured as Rose Leslie, because Kvote also knows nothing…
Here's some of my casting ideas. I consulted some of the descriptions from Kingkiller Wiki to help match them up with what I had pictured while reading. For Kvothe, I haven't actually seen any of his movies but I'm casting Ansel Elgort based on seeing him interviewed on The Tonight Show and Conan:

She's probably a little bit young but for Devi I see a short-haired Chloe Moretz:

For Denna, how about soon-to-be star of Star Wars Episode VII, Daisy Ridley:

Auri is 100% Saorise Ronan:
And how about a less-Sansa-ish and dark-haired Sophie Turner for Fela?
I love a lot of these suggestions, especially the Devi ones, and I would like to add Ian Somerhalder as Bast. :)
I almost forgot, Abenthy must be played by Stephen Fry!
I would be OK with Ian Somerhalder as Bast, but only because Martin Short is to old…
Alrighty here's mine!KVOTHE - Domhnall Gleeson (About Time, the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII)
- unruly, bright red hair
- green eyes
- slender fingers
- middling height
- witty, curious, arrogant

DENNA - Olivia Thirlby (Dredd, Juno)
- long, straight, dark hair
- dark eye color
- fair complexion
- oval face, strong but delicate jaw
- perfect ears
- charming, independent, ambitious, poised

BAST - Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia!, Captain America: the First Avenger)
- dark and charming
- quick smile
- cunning blue eyes
- sharp, delicate
- is actually a fae with completely blue eyeballs and cloven hooves

AURI - Elle Fanning (Maleficent, War of the Worlds)
long, thin, floaty blonde hair
- delicate, petite frame
- proper manners
- gentle, sneaky, child-like, protective

I like your picks Jasper, even if they are aged up a bit. Domnhall Gleeson certainly looks the part and Olivia Thirlby is an inspired choice for Denna.
Anyone think NotW will be on film or TV in the future though? If so, how long maybe before we see it?

Not quite sure which role -- it's been a while since I read the book -- but I'm pretty sure Ruth Wilson (Alice from Luther) belongs in the discussion.
Ruth Wilson is definitely Devi or Denna. I think she's very pretty, but not pretty enough for Denna though.
Are they teenagers? Aren't most the students at the university in their twenties?Kvothe is only about 15 but I'm sure it says somewhere that that most don't even apply until at least 20 and I think Ben says 17 is about the youngest the university typically lets in.
Good points. Denna is said to be a year older than Kvothe. Devi is supposed to be at the most her early twenties. I couldn't find Fela's age but think she is 2 years older than Kvothe.Ruth Wilson might be a good fit for Meluan Lackless from book 2.
While reading the book, Denna was totally Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's to me. The character is in a similar financial situation, with a similar coping strategy and the physical description even fits. I just can't think of a current actress who fits that image ...
Came upon this just now and remembered this thread:http://www.castinggame.com/cast/K9X0n...
Some good picks in there.
Hannah Murray as Auri = excellent.
Jim Broadbent as Count Threpe = yup!
Mark Strong as Haliax = yes because Mark Strong could play any villain.

I've seen this before and I definitely think Eddie Redmayne would make a good Kvothe. I also liked the idea of Paul Bettany as the Chronicler!
Casting here on this link is pretty brilliant as well:http://www.denofgeek.com/books-comics...
