Stewart Horn Hello all.

I clicked the "groups" link on Goodreads and discovered that I'm already a member of this group. Somehow I've never had any emails about it and I don't remember joining but you seem like my kind of people. I get emails from other groups - maybe someone can tell me if I'm doing something wrong.

I'm a reader and occasional writer based in Scotland. I like mainly gay books and horror but I am keen to learn about other flavours of queerness better to understand and support my lgbt brothers and sisters (and those who choose to be neither).

As an able bodied, white, cisgender gay man, I feel that I barely count as queer: I'm mainstream these days and really don't experience the issues that many others face daily.

I hope for many good recommendations.

Alex Clare | 8 comments Hello

I joined this group precisely because I wanted more awareness of books outside of my experience and, for me, these fall into two categories, some which open my eyes to others' experiences and others which reinforce just how similar all humans are (especially same-sex romances - the true proof of love is love).

If you are looking for something different from you, I found a recent list of trans fiction by trans writers. https://bookriot.com/2018/07/02/trans...

I also can't help myself plugging my own books, He's Gone and She's Fallen, crime novels which feature a trans woman Detective Inspector.

Happy reading...
