Thanks M :)I saw Mercedes Lackey at the last comic con I attended. She was so down to earth, and she'd met practically everyone! It was fun hearing her panel.
I have met her a few times, she is wonderful. Not many authors will take time to sit and chat. Her panels are great.
I have always loved Mercedes Lackey. It's so nice to hear that she is great in real life too.Finished my last book and added to spreadsheet. Now to have lunch and start a TRAVEL book. :)
Just a reminder - there is about 35 minutes left to post books to count for Cauldron. Then don't finish any until TRAVEL begins. The timing post is here:https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Update
We read 60 books as a team this week (last week was 46). Interestingly it was the same, on average, book points per book (21) so we read around the same size of books too!

Please don't finish anything in the next 20 minutes as we are going to have week 2 locked.
I'll post again once week 3 is ready to roll for TRAVEL

This week for TRAVEL I'll read The Great Alone which works for a bunch of letters and Scent to Her Grave... I'm sure I'll manage at least one or two more.... Having some fun now!! AND I managed to get ahold of The Nightmare Before Chistmas on DVD! So I'll be watching it this week to get myself up to speed...

Finished
I have the first 5 from NetGalley and I can't decide if I should bite the bullet and download the rest :o

I really like the series a lot - but I totally understand that it isn't for everyone - probably depends on if you enjoy Charley's snark or not :) I grew up in Albuquerque where it is set, which makes it extra fun.I'm reading the last one now - difficult to hit the last of this series and Kate Daniels so close to each other.
I like the series as well. Sometimes Charley's snark does get a little silly but I enjoy the overall premise and of course Reyes! I'm up to No 11, the final book is out sometime next year and I'm holding off to read the last couple all at once.
I read the first book ages ago mostly because someone compared Reyes to Barrons. I had to read for myself. I think I meant to continue the series but discovered Kate Daniels first and never got around to book 2. Since everybody seems to like it... hmmm...
I love the snark -- it's one of my special talents... My favorite thing is that she named her boobs! Too funny!!
They do have a bit of a Kate Daniels feel, but I think they are more light hearted.
The first 11 books are available to download as “read now” on netgalley if you do want to stick your toe in 😉

means i have to review though 😭
As an alternate opinion, I love Charley and her snark but I hate Reyes with a burning, fiery passion. :D So I'm taking a several year break between Book 3 and 4.
My opinion is more similar to Allison's. I never read past book one, as I could not stand the romance. It is one of the few one star books I have rated outside of challenges.
I can totally see that! That's how I felt about Dominic Caine in Elemental Assassins - hate him! Reyes has grown on me through the series, but yeah it's all about Charley for me :)
Lexi wrote: "My opinion is more similar to Allison's. I never read past book one, as I could not stand the romance. It is one of the few one star books I have rated outside of challenges."Book twins! We hate Reyes and audiobooks!
I don’t hate Reyes, (yet), I just don’t really understand her attraction to him. And kind of like in Time Travellers Wife - he has always been there which I find a little gross and I’m not sure that makes it romantic or just stalkerish.
I liked that in book two he was more on the side - but I didn’t agree with her decisions around him. I’ll see how I go in book 3 😉

I love how we can read the same books and have such differing opinions! And discuss...One of the things I enjoy about being on Goodreads.
Hm, I guess I go check out the Elemental series too! Then... what do the ladies think of Barrons then?
Let's not talk of Curan, i think everybody loves him!
No two people ever read the same book! Even non fiction. Each individual will take away different points. Same thing with movies.I never listen to any critics. I will choose my own books and movies, thank you!
Sometimes friends & relatives don't agree with me & that's completely fine. My husband hates fantasy & Sci-fi. I still love him. I hate reality shows. He still loves me. I can't even tell him to read certain books. I have to cleverly leave them out around the house hoping he'll take the bait. I love it when he's impressed. 🤓

I finished How to Find Love in a Bookshop, which works for every letter but L. It's always fun reading books about people who love to read - although they probably didn't talk about books as much as I'd have liked. Too busy finding love I guess :)Lauri I love what you said - "No two people ever read the same book". !
I've been trying to get hold of a copy of
but no luck. I'm not going to pay that much money for YA (which I generally don't love). So, hopefully someone else here will be reading for the extra points?

I finished

The BOMS for this month didn't interest me, unfortunately. But I am going to try and get both the December ones

Finished The Road to Little Dribbling: Adventures of an American in Britain for the MPG travel book.
I'm out of town Friday-Sunday, so I will not start the BOM until I get back. I also will probably be reading less as I am at a conference.
