I have attached the synopsis below the questions, but feel free to give your opinion if you have read it, or why you would not.

Below will be a set of questions to help you along with what to talk about the book. Please feel free to complete the questionnaire, or just post what you did or did not like about the book.

Discussion questions you might want to answer... if not just post up your review!

1. What did you like best about this book?

2. What did you like least about this book?

3. What other books did this remind you of?

4. Which characters in the book did you like best?

5. Which characters did you like least?

6. If you were making a movie of this book, who would you cast?

Synopsis:

Asylum is a thrilling and creepy photo-novel perfect for fans of the New York Times bestseller Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

For sixteen-year-old Dan Crawford, New Hampshire College Prep is more than a summer program—it's a lifeline. An outcast at his high school, Dan is excited to finally make some friends in his last summer before college. But when he arrives at the program, Dan learns that his dorm for the summer used to be a sanatorium, more commonly known as an asylum. And not just any asylum—a last resort for the criminally insane.

As Dan and his new friends, Abby and Jordan, explore the hidden recesses of their creepy summer home, they soon discover it's no coincidence that the three of them ended up here. Because the asylum holds the key to a terrifying past. And there are some secrets that refuse to stay buried.

Featuring found photos of unsettling history and real abandoned asylums and filled with chilling mystery and page-turning suspense, Madeleine Roux's teen debut, Asylum, is a horror story that treads the line between genius and insanity.

Well there was 6 votes for this so I hope some of those come to discuss. I'm going to take a pass this month. Sounds like it could be interesting but I just don't want to do another YA/NA right now. I will be interested in seeing what others think.

Tammy (tammyo73) | 66 comments I just found this on my bookshelf. I bought it a bit ago so I am in!

I have had it for just over a month. I need a good horror, but could not find in Audio, which I think would be cool. I will be reading this one!

Tammy (tammyo73) | 66 comments I loved the pace of this book. It moved along without long areas where authors sometimes get off track. I read it in a day. I am not sure if I am interested enough to move on in the series though. I wish that there were more details into (view spoiler)
I am not entirely sure what this compares to in my mind... I need to think on that one.
Abby is the character that I liked the least due to lack of depth to her character. My favorite I suppose is Dan. (view spoiler)
I had Jordan pictured as Miles Heizer, and Abby as Alisha Boe . Finally, Dan I pictured as Dylan Minnette.
(13 Reasons Why) cast
OOOOH, I would like more on (view spoiler)

I have never seen 13 Reasons Why. Would you say that this book is comparable to that show, or more like Stranger Things?

Tammy (tammyo73) | 66 comments Neither, I just pictured the actors in my mind for Dan,Abby, and Jordan

Oh! I thought you meant the actors. I just started the book and so far the roommate (Felix?) is kinda a pain... Who did you picture for the roommate? I Have never seen 13 Reasons Why, so I have no idea who the characters are and look them up.

Tammy (tammyo73) | 66 comments Felix was just a little nerd in my mind. I had trouble picturing him. My idea of him kept changing.

I can;t tell either. He seems like a poindexter, but at the same time he seems like my daughters ex boyfriend... I feel the same way. I see Jordan as my flamboyant friend, Nick. Abby as my daughter, and Dan as her friend Sean. I think because my daughter is their age I am projecting her friends into the character... odd?

Tammy (tammyo73) | 66 comments Not odd at all. Sometimes I picture people from my life or TV. Sometimes, like with Felix, I can’t keep a picture in my mind.

Has anyone else read this book? Trying to read it? Plan to read it? I am just over half done and (view spoiler).

I think the book is cute, but for someone who has had this on their TBR list for a LONG time.. I think I am disappointed. Not sure if it is because it on Audio, or because I am losing my interest in teen horror...

Anyone have an opinion on this?

Tammy, I see Felix as a wannabe Markiplier (YouTube star)... from Not to Hot, you know? But I don't think Felix is part Asian.. LOL!
