Heather | 8548 comments _______________ was raised in a family of artists. His father was mayor and his mother raised their seven children... Family time was spent playing chess, reading, painting, and playing music. __________ was close to his two older brothers; he joined them to study painting.

_______was captivated by new approaches to color and structure. [He had] a deep-seated interest in the themes and exploration of sexual identity and desire...

"as a painter it was much better to be influenced by a writer than by another painter."

__________________always stayed away from groups - that invariably came with their group politics...in time, __________________secluded himself from the greater art world and kept to a tight-knit group of artists.

[Later in life] he shunned the public eye, preferring instead to play chess with select guests until his death.

Who Am I?

Dirk Van | 4574 comments Still think this is pretty difficult ;-)

What art movement?
Maybe Cubism?

Heather | 8548 comments I'll tell you, he didn't want to associate himself with any particular group. He took ideas from Surrealism and Dada. Initially he followed cubism, fauvism and impressionism.

No, it's not Braque. Yes, I should be asleep. I have a difficult time sleeping these days. But as a matter of fact, I'm going to try to go back to bed now.

Keep guessing! :)

Dirk Van | 4574 comments You should avoid computers and tablets after 11 PM.
The light of the screen messes up your brain!

You should read Matthew Walker:

Heather | 8548 comments Actually I am not really on my computer at night. I never watch tv, and I’m in bed by 9-9:30pm but wake up at like 2:30am! Well, goodnight for now!
