Can't remember the name but think it was like something something and catflap or that sort of rythm. I know it started with a girl escaping the trailer trash life and went on to travels across the US with a silver spoon discussing the troubles in the Middle East. This was in the late 90's when I read it. Thanks!

Is a "silver spoon" someone born with a silver spoon in their mouth? Or an actual silver spoon?

It's a talking spoon and they also travel with a cowboy. Really strange concept but I remember it being a really good read. Like a road novel with political overtones.
