I've been trying to read this too but I'm having a hard time getting into the story. I can't even pinpoint exactly why really- yeah it is slow but more so I feel like the story is disorganized I guess. I keep hoping its all going to come together soon. I'm at 23% right now- which is where the author takes us back a year to Jaffrey's party....

So I'm going to stick with it for a little while longer since so many people rave about this book, and hope for the best. : )

Watched the film this weekend. Interesting movie but a bit slow and doesn’t follow the novel very closely. Though the whole revenge from beyond the grave plot stands out a bit more and the story was easier to follow. But the shuffling of characters and events were a little jarring so shortly after reading the book.

This book is one of my favs of all time. I read it some years ago and I got scared only 2 times but I liked how the story develops.
This is a book that requires patience. I missed the chance to re-read it as I was pretty busy but I enjoyed reading the comments. :)

so so so SO much horror to read atm!! This one will not be read until the end of Nov, as I want to read it WELL, you know? I have been *waiting* to read this book, it finally gets picked and -- BAM!--- tons of REAL LIFE SHITE happened, and now, suddenly--Oct is OVER! WTF! --Jen from Quebec :0(

Jen, I am in the same boat. I wanted to do a re-read this month but I'm still on the holds list at my library. So you wont be the only one checking in late. LOL

I think the story wrapped up rather nicely. It does sort of speed up after page 300, maybe because of some pacing issues?
