Good whodunnit novel. Readers kept in suspense. Felt that the actual murderer of the Hadley family was both surprising and unlikely. Ellie's killer was more predictable and it was not surprising that the author (probably affected by mass media hysteria about male on minor sexual assault) took the opportunity to pout the boots into the badly battered, much maligned male population. There were shades of Jasper Jones (Silvey) and Shapes of Snakes (Walters) and I was left wondering whether Harper was influenced on some level of consciousness by these books.
