ABANDONED. Fantasy - Group of individuals are pushed together by a war. They plan a way to stop this by overthrowing the king.

The storyline is very vague (sorry and not much to go on) but revolves around a group of individuals which is led by the main male character who is notorious for deeds and his double barrel shotgun. The best I can recall about this book is that they have a young boy with them who does not seem important at the time but as they walk through grassland plains and they camp for the night, the kid visits a tower on this plain that nobody else can see. In the tower, he meets a god and they have some idle discussion about the group and what the kid is doing with them as if the kid is wasting his time with them (although he is still just a child). This happens around three-quarters of the way on the book.
