Sunny Hi! My name is Sunny. I’m a reader and a procrastinator, so.... yeah I don’t know what else to say. I’m not the most reliable conversationalist but will pop in occasionally.

message 252: by Trip (new)

Trip (shardsofromance) | 29 comments Hi, I'm Laura and I am a huge fanof reading. I adore books but I've been stuck in fanfiction ecently but I really want to get through my tbr, finish a few series. Seemed like the perfect group for me!

message 253: by Ocean (new)

Ocean (oshmosis) | 1 comments Hi! My name is Ocean and I'm 19 years old. I love books but I haven't really had the time to read ever since senior high and college (currently a college student btw). Hoping to manage my time better so I can slowly get back to reading, though yes, I am a terrible procrastinator.

message 254: by Jen K (new)

Jen K | 1547 comments Hey there, I'm Jen. Excited to join the group. I read most genres but do have a special fondness for Fantasy. I travel a fair amount for work so my Kindle is invaluable.

message 255: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (ladiisiemelle) | 3 comments Hello! My name is Catherine and I'm from the USA (Florida) and I've been a member of the group for almost a year but this is the first time I've posted here (my first post anywhere on GoodReads!). I've always had a love for reading since I could pick up a book and start reading it. My favorite genre is horror novels. I have a bit of an obsession with trying to obtain out of print horror novels from past decades (70s and 80s mostly), but this year I've been trying to branch out to other genres that I wouldn't normally gravitate to. Mostly, I haven't been disappointed! I look forward to trying to keep up with the various boards and discovering new books to love.

message 256: by Damani (new)

Damani Dell | 3 comments Hi my name is Damani, and I live in Jamaica. I am a second year student studying in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain Management. I’ve always been told as a young kid to read more which I didn’t, and to this day I regret not doing so.

That being said, I would like to take up reading just to exercise my brain from time to time. I joined this group so that I could meet new people and exchange thoughts regarding any topic.

message 257: by Hanin (new)

Hanin (haninbr) | 3 comments Halo! My name is hanin, I'm 21 year-old tourism student from Indonesia. I love reading since I was a kid, but since college I haven't been reading much. This is why I'm trying to be active in this community as a motivation for myself to start reading again.

When I was younger I liked reading fiction books but as I get older I become more interested in non-fiction. Here I'm looking for more non-fiction book recommendations. Nice to meet you all!

message 258: by Elise (new)

Elise Hi my name is Elise, I am a R.T in the united states.
I love historical fiction of any kind. I'm so excited this group is currently reading Outlander it is one of my favorite series! I read other genres as well, any fiction about Boston is a must read. I am an avid audible user, but read paper books as well.

So excited to talk with all of you!

message 259: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Green (phoenixfire9439) Hello, y'all! My name is Rachel. I'm 29 but I'll be 30 soon and I live in the US. I'm into coloring, powerlifting, yoga, hermit crab care for my trio of bubbies- Vhagar, Leonardo da Pinchi, and little miss Clawthulhu- and bingewatching shows, listening to podcasts, and listening to music like Coheed and Cambria, Metallica, and some of my local bands.

One of the books I'm looking forward to reading is Reckoning of Fallen Gods by R.A. Salvatore. I picked up the first book in The Coven series, Child of a Mad God, while trying to find Forgotten Realms books and I loved the world building and how descriptive Salvatore was of the landscape and how people and things looked. I like building mental images and imagining things when I read so the way he writes, I was doing that a lot. I'm really looking forward to reading with y'all.

message 262: by Manasa (new)

Manasa | 1 comments Howdy :)

I've procrastinated a long time about joining this group and finally got around to it ;) now all that's left is to get to that 80+ "want to read" list !!
I live and work in Austin, TX ,have 2 human children and 1 canine child, and watch way too much TV for my own good. I do love podcasts - particularly anything to do with myths, legends, history, and SYSK (stuff you should know) !

I also run a little , recreationally.

Happy reading y'all!

message 263: by Haydn (new)

Haydn (senexosa) Hi all, I’m Haydn! I’m new to this group and trying to get active in it. I graduated from college in May, so I’ve been working to get back into reading since then. (It’s hard when you have two majors and 7 jobs!) I also earned a graduate certificate in publishing in August, so that’s pretty cool.

I used to devour books when I was younger, and I even worked as an aide in my elementary and high school libraries. I’m a slower reader now, but little by little, I think I’m finally finding my way back to it.

I love to bake, knit, play video games, and edit all things written. I’m excited to be a part of this group, and I hope I can get to know you all better!

message 264: by Tbirdplanstoread (new)

Tbirdplanstoread | 9 comments Hi! I'm Teresa! I'm 39 from Alabama. I have one 17 yo daughter. We love anime and Taekwondo. I typically read a lot of scifi/fantasy, but I've recently started reading more YA, so my TBR has grown substantially in the last year (yikes!)...

I love to go to conventions! I don't do cosplay myself, but I love taking pics of the amazing cosplayers I see! I also love meeting up with my favorite authors and tv/movie actors. My favorite convention to attend is DragonCon. I've gone every year since 2006. This year was by far my favorite, because I met my all-time favorite Doctor, David Tennant!

Some of my favorite books: Ender's Game, Hitchhiker's Guide, The Wheel of Time series, The Stormlight Archive series, The Hobbit/LoTR

Looking forward to getting to know everyone! :)

I'm currently reading Wicked King by Holly Black and I might be addicted x)
Really excited to talk to all of you and make new friends!

message 271: by Reading_ (new)

Reading_ Tamishly (reading_tam_ishly) hey! Tam here! I am a medico with a weird obsession of books and a fascination about ebooks without a reason. I love Kpop and I worship NCT127. My favourite fictional character is Dante of Aristotle and Dante Discover The Secrets of Universe (if I have his patience on loving someone, I will be ok with everything else!). My favourite genre is contemporary. But I read basically everything else as well. My most used app is Goodreads without a doubt and I am proud of it. I LOVE lgbt reads and I need a regular dose of it. In books, I love character driven plot and writing. I love tea to a level of obsession and dependence. I don't worship BTS but they are the only people in the glamour world who inspire me on an everyday basis. My favourite bookstubers aka Youtubers are theirishreader, Emily Fox, Hannah and Joereads. I blindly trust their opinion on books. My favourite era of all time in books is the time of the second world war and I love reading books based during this time.

I type a lot but talk too less. But I do observe and remember every tiny act of love and respect here. Happy reading!

Nelson R. | 25 comments Hello everyone, I am so excited to see what books yall guys recommend. 2019 was the first year I decided to start reading and I been loving it. So far I love to read non-fiction and mystery books Agatha Christie is amazing, I wonder what 2020 has to offer.

message 275: by Rachelle (new)

Rachelle (rntinsley) Hi I’m Rachelle and I like a bit of everything, but mainly Horror, and dystopian. I read non-fiction and contemporary fiction, historical fiction, YA... really the only genre I don’t care for is Romance.

I’m 46 (47 in two weeks, eek!) and live in the US, in Ohio.

I was an avid reader until about 13 years ago when my son came along but I’m trying to change that. The desire to read has never changed for me, but finding the time, and energy did. Lol

message 276: by Mya (new)

Mya Bee (shelflover) | 3 comments Hi I'm Mya. I'm 21 years old (about to be 22 in a month). I'm in my fourth year of college (one more semester until I graduate). I live in the US. I love reading so much and making new friends! I have too many books that I lost count after 15 lol My favorite genres are fantasy, thriller, mystery, crime, and little bit of romance

message 277: by Raquel (new)

Raquel (mahayhay) | 212 comments Hi! My name is Raquel and I just graduated college so I've been trying to get back into the groove of reading as much as I used to. I'm happy to say that I'm achieving this goal! For the first time ever since I joined GR I met my yearly reading challenge of 30 books!

The problem is that I need people to talk to about the books I'm reading! Even though I've been on GR for eight years I have yet to join any groups and I decided today would be the day I changed that! The name of this group struck a chord in me because I've been putting off reading the Percy Jackson series for almost a decade even though it sounds amazing. I finally got around to starting the series this year and I'm currently on the fourth book.

I can read books of any genre as long as they sound interesting, but my favorite genre is fantasy with a little extra love for the historical fantasy subgenre. The one stipulation I have for books is that they have a diverse cast. My favorite book I read this year has been Darius the Great Is Not Okay by Adib Khorram.

message 278: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey!! My name is Simone, and I am 18. I live in South Texas, and I am a lesbian. I have an incredible 18-pound cat named Sunny, but I call him Chub. I am a front desk receptionist and an elementary school tutor. Still, I am looking to get a job at a local bookstore. I enjoy physics, reading, school work, singing, broadway shows, and spending time with my family. I like YA books, but as I am getting older, I want to explore other genres.

I look forward to reading with you all!

message 279: by Jacob (new)

Jacob (jacobthebookworm) | 7 comments Hey! I’m Jacob. I’m from Alabama, and I’m a freshman in college. I wasn’t able to read much this first semester, but I’m hoping to change that in the coming year. I love fantasy books and murder mysteries. I also have a bookstagram! It’s the same as my username here. I’ll follow you back if you follow me!😊

message 280: by Talia (new)

Talia Hi I', Eloise Wilson. I like Fantasy novels and funny books too. In fact the first club I joined is called Fantasy Buddy Reads.

message 281: by Tyler (new)

Tyler (icevocean) | 4 comments hey!
my name is ocean , i‘m 16 years old and from germany ( hannover ).
i‘m in my junior year of high school ( or at least i think it’s the same as high school, we call it Abitur here ) and i‘m really excited to be part of this group!
i just started to read more because i never had the time for it ( yk i had the time but i just did things that were „more important“ like netflix :))) haha) and now i‘m literally obsessed with buying new books and reading more.
almost every genre is fine by me but i really like the lgbtq+ romance , history, mystery and poetry books!

my hobbies are pretty boring because i don’t do much, i‘m painting from time to time and collecting things like kpop albums, the walking dead merch and i‘m also sending my internet friends penpals every month ( sometimes i forget it but it’s fine hehe)

i hope i‘ll have fun here and maybe even find new friends!!

thanks for having me c:

message 282: by Sara (new)

Sara Hi, my name is Sara. I'm 36 years old from Oregon, USA. I am very anti social so this group is my attempt to fix that. I read a bit of everything. I'm a big mood reader, so I'm reading/listening to about 3 to 4 books at a time. I think my goal for this year is to read a couple of nonfiction books. I don't know. Um if you have any recommendations I'd be happy to hear them. I'm pretty open to try anything. My current reads are Crooked Kingdom, Nevermoor, Hello Girls, and The Cutting Edge.

Alex (The Scribe Owl) | 249 comments Hi! I'm Alex. I love Fantasy and Sci-Fi books, specifically post-apocalyptic and dystopian. I love to read new books and I have a goal of writing a review for each one I finish.

message 284: by Herzl (new)

Kelsey Frederick | 2 comments Hi! I'm Kelsey. I'm 22 and from Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Clearly from the time of this post you can tell I'm a bit of a night owl haha. I used to be a big reader when I was a kid, but I haven't been lately so I'm trying to get back in the swing of things! I've read 7 books so far this year which is a lot for me since I'm dyslexic and read at the speed of molasses lol. But I love all kinds of genres. My favorites are YA, romance, thriller, and horror (kind of opposites I know lol). If you have any recommendations hit me up! :)

My name is Brittany and I’m 19 years old (20 next month)! I am from Florida, USA. I love reading, but the last few years I haven’t really done any reading besides books that needed to be read for class. Now that I have free time, I want to catch up on many of the newer books as well as some classics! I’m hoping this group motivates me to continue reading as much as possible and help me find more books I didn’t know I needed!

Nice to meet everyone!

message 298: by Danielzinho (new)

Danielzinho | 1 comments Hi everyone! My name is Daniel and I'm 36. I'm Croatian but I'm living in Dublin, Ireland. I'm a huge Stephen King fan. I adore reading, to the point that I'm usually going through several novels at the same time (reading some and listening to some). I find audiobooks are a great way to enjoy literature even when you're hands are busy (in my case usually when I walk my dog). My TBR list is huge, and some of these books are on my shelves, others on my phone, and others on my Kindle. Nice to meet everyone and happy reading/listening 😊

My favourite genres are mostly YAs, fantasy, scifi, thrillers and so on. I don't usually read crime novels or pure romances, but I don't mind them :D
I have somehow managed to make a realllyyyy long list of tbrs, so... haha, we'll see how it goes :D happy to meet everyone!

Simone (countbywords) | 8 comments Hello, my name is Simone. I live in the United States. I mainly read fantasy, sci-fi, contemporary, dystopian fiction, and the occasional classic or horror, though I'm pretty much open to any genre. I mainly read YA novels. I'm looking to expand my horizons, and read a bit more nonfiction, which will be quite the adventure.

I have so many unread books on my shelf (my Goodreads, e-book, and physical shelf) that I want to get through soon. I also want to read some super hyped books like the Grisha Trilogy and The Mortal Instruments.

Feel free to add me as a friend. I would love discussing books with you :)

I hope that you have a wonderful time reading!
