That being said, I would like to take up reading just to exercise my brain from time to time. I joined this group so that I could meet new people and exchange thoughts regarding any topic.

When I was younger I liked reading fiction books but as I get older I become more interested in non-fiction. Here I'm looking for more non-fiction book recommendations. Nice to meet you all!

I love historical fiction of any kind. I'm so excited this group is currently reading Outlander it is one of my favorite series! I read other genres as well, any fiction about Boston is a must read. I am an avid audible user, but read paper books as well.
So excited to talk with all of you!

One of the books I'm looking forward to reading is Reckoning of Fallen Gods by R.A. Salvatore. I picked up the first book in The Coven series, Child of a Mad God, while trying to find Forgotten Realms books and I loved the world building and how descriptive Salvatore was of the landscape and how people and things looked. I like building mental images and imagining things when I read so the way he writes, I was doing that a lot. I'm really looking forward to reading with y'all.

I've procrastinated a long time about joining this group and finally got around to it ;) now all that's left is to get to that 80+ "want to read" list !!
I live and work in Austin, TX ,have 2 human children and 1 canine child, and watch way too much TV for my own good. I do love podcasts - particularly anything to do with myths, legends, history, and SYSK (stuff you should know) !
I also run a little , recreationally.
Happy reading y'all!

I used to devour books when I was younger, and I even worked as an aide in my elementary and high school libraries. I’m a slower reader now, but little by little, I think I’m finally finding my way back to it.
I love to bake, knit, play video games, and edit all things written. I’m excited to be a part of this group, and I hope I can get to know you all better!

I love to go to conventions! I don't do cosplay myself, but I love taking pics of the amazing cosplayers I see! I also love meeting up with my favorite authors and tv/movie actors. My favorite convention to attend is DragonCon. I've gone every year since 2006. This year was by far my favorite, because I met my all-time favorite Doctor, David Tennant!
Some of my favorite books: Ender's Game, Hitchhiker's Guide, The Wheel of Time series, The Stormlight Archive series, The Hobbit/LoTR
Looking forward to getting to know everyone! :)

I'm a huge fan of Sarah J.Maas, Holly Black and many more! I also enjoy classics like Shakespeare and Charles Dickens etc
My hobbies are horse riding, painting, anything to do with art and I'm currently studying to be a hairdresser( wish me luck haha)
I'm 19 years old and pretty independent as I live on my own. I don't have many friends, so please send me a friend request!🌸🌸 thank you x
(kai ora is hello in Maori. My native language )

I'm a university student from Canada. I love stories, and being super critical of them. I'm excited to get to know you guys. <3

I'm currently reading Wicked King by Holly Black and I might be addicted x)
Really excited to talk to all of you and make new friends!

I type a lot but talk too less. But I do observe and remember every tiny act of love and respect here. Happy reading!

I also started a YouTube channel, "Radical Books and Politics" and would love the Subscribes: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6Lz...
Nice to meet all of you!

I’m 46 (47 in two weeks, eek!) and live in the US, in Ohio.
I was an avid reader until about 13 years ago when my son came along but I’m trying to change that. The desire to read has never changed for me, but finding the time, and energy did. Lol

The problem is that I need people to talk to about the books I'm reading! Even though I've been on GR for eight years I have yet to join any groups and I decided today would be the day I changed that! The name of this group struck a chord in me because I've been putting off reading the Percy Jackson series for almost a decade even though it sounds amazing. I finally got around to starting the series this year and I'm currently on the fourth book.
I can read books of any genre as long as they sound interesting, but my favorite genre is fantasy with a little extra love for the historical fantasy subgenre. The one stipulation I have for books is that they have a diverse cast. My favorite book I read this year has been Darius the Great Is Not Okay by Adib Khorram.
Hey!! My name is Simone, and I am 18. I live in South Texas, and I am a lesbian. I have an incredible 18-pound cat named Sunny, but I call him Chub. I am a front desk receptionist and an elementary school tutor. Still, I am looking to get a job at a local bookstore. I enjoy physics, reading, school work, singing, broadway shows, and spending time with my family. I like YA books, but as I am getting older, I want to explore other genres.
I look forward to reading with you all!
I look forward to reading with you all!

I like anything that has to do with art. Music, dancing, painting, drawing and writing are all art to me.

my name is ocean , i‘m 16 years old and from germany ( hannover ).
i‘m in my junior year of high school ( or at least i think it’s the same as high school, we call it Abitur here ) and i‘m really excited to be part of this group!
i just started to read more because i never had the time for it ( yk i had the time but i just did things that were „more important“ like netflix :))) haha) and now i‘m literally obsessed with buying new books and reading more.
almost every genre is fine by me but i really like the lgbtq+ romance , history, mystery and poetry books!
my hobbies are pretty boring because i don’t do much, i‘m painting from time to time and collecting things like kpop albums, the walking dead merch and i‘m also sending my internet friends penpals every month ( sometimes i forget it but it’s fine hehe)
i hope i‘ll have fun here and maybe even find new friends!!
thanks for having me c:

Hey guys! My name is Miriam. I am from South Africa, I’m 30 years old and yes I love YA even though I’m a full blown adult. My favorite author is Ve Schwab. I love some crime thrillers and fantasy so very different types of books.

My favorite types of books are Ya horror, Ya fantasy, and Ya futuristic. I like tea, cats, rainy days, reading, writing, and just hanging out!
Im always open for reeding buddies or reading recommendations!

My name is Brittany and I’m 19 years old (20 next month)! I am from Florida, USA. I love reading, but the last few years I haven’t really done any reading besides books that needed to be read for class. Now that I have free time, I want to catch up on many of the newer books as well as some classics! I’m hoping this group motivates me to continue reading as much as possible and help me find more books I didn’t know I needed!
Nice to meet everyone!
Nice to meet everyone!

I have just joined GoodReads in February. I love talking to people who enjoy the same things I do, so I accept all friend requests.
And that’s about it, thanks for reading! (:

I love Tolkien too,
I'm doing my first goodreads reading challenge, i set myself the goal of 40 books and I've read 8 so far this year, Thats good for me, because I'm slow!
I really want to do a buddy read soon as well.
Hope you guys are all coping well in this crazy time.

The GET ME OUT OF MY SLUMP folder is nominally for slumps, but it's also a great place to ask for inspiration/new ideas from other members! If you're looking for new books to try out that are similar to your favorites, I'd definitely check out that resource :)

Have you checked out the Buddy Read Nominations for this month? All you have to do is suggest a book and someone asks to join -- or you could check out the open buddy reads and join one!

My name's Irene. I'm from the Czech Republic and I love love books. A lot. Both reading and writing!
I've never joined a book club before, so I'm pumped up to join!
My favourite genres are mostly YAs, fantasy, scifi, thrillers and so on. I don't usually read crime novels or pure romances, but I don't mind them :D
I have somehow managed to make a realllyyyy long list of tbrs, so... haha, we'll see how it goes :D happy to meet everyone!

I have so many unread books on my shelf (my Goodreads, e-book, and physical shelf) that I want to get through soon. I also want to read some super hyped books like the Grisha Trilogy and The Mortal Instruments.
Feel free to add me as a friend. I would love discussing books with you :)
I hope that you have a wonderful time reading!
