Introduce Yourself! - OFFICAL THREAD

my name is mackenzie but you can call me kenzie, or mackenzie if you want. i’ll read almost any genre, but i usually don’t read supernatural, i just can’t get into it for some reason! i’ve been a member of this group for a while but now that school’s winding down i’m hoping i’ll have time to actually participate 😂 i’m looking forward to meeting y’all!

I want to read, I love to read, I can't get enough of it; but somehow I don't quiet read a lot. Life just keeps getting in the way. I set targets and barely meet them every year whereas my TBR list just keeps getting longer and longer. I must confess, I am a bit of an escapist. Sci-Fi and Fantasy have been my refuge from the ravages of life. But I fear I'm getting disconnecting from my love of reading; and desperately want to hold on.
You fellows will help me out, won't you?

My name is Kristina from Ohio. I tend to have great intentions with a realistic TBR. However, between work and kids, I tend to want to sleep then stay up to read. I will read pretty much everything. I previously tended to read more contemporary then anything else. This year I decided to read more fantasy/Sci-Fi and that has been a wonderful change of pace for me. Looking forward to reading with the group,

I'm Sam from the UK and I like to challenge myself with reading, whether that is my customary 1 classic a year or starting a new series. I try to keep my TBR under control but that is an impossible task so I will do my best to stop it getting too long!
I tend to read a lot of Young Adult Fantasy, but I also enjoy Crime and thrillers.
Looking forward to getting to know you and tackling my high to be read pile :)

I just joined the 3 month summer group challenge and I am looking forward to playing with some of you!

Hi Jabnia!! We're so glad to have you :)

Hi Jabnia!! We'r..."
Thanks! I just had a quick question. I saw that there were buddy read discussion threads and the group read discussion threads for May and I just wanted to know if I had to read one book from each one or just the book that I’m most interested in?

the group read discussions are the ones that are meant for the whole group to read :) there are 3 discussion threads for may, you can read all 3 if you want or just pick one that you are most interested in
the buddy read discussion threads are usually for pairs or smaller groups that want to read a certain book :)
both of them have different methods of being created hehe

All the buddy and group reads are, of course, optional! If you prefer challenges or games, we have a ton of those, both seasonal and on-going!

Recently, my therapist and I have realized that when I consistently read, my mental health is significantly better. I made this account in order to keep track of my reading, to find new books, and also to have a list of things i’ve accomplished. Sounds weird, but it is what it is.
I strongly identify with April Ludgate, and I love caffeine. I’m queer as hell & love psychology (kind of a geek about it oops).

Reading consistently definitely helps my mental health, so I'm definitely with you there! Also, psychology is awesome, so totally geek out and I'll geek out with you hah
Glad to have you in the group!

Ok, thank you very much! I joined in just in time, I’ve been meaning to read A Court of Thorns and Roses for ages! I have this horrible habit to not read the hyped book that I know I’ll really enjoy, and I’m really excited that this group will keep me accountable, and will make me keep up with so many books that I need to read.

Ohhh, thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. I’m really excited to form part of these activities and discuss and read books which is one, if not my favorite pass time. Also really happy to finally have a group of people that also enjoy doing the same thing, because none of my friends read, which makes me sad for them but some day they’ll find that book are the best!

we'll try our best haha! see you around :)

My favorite genre is Sci-fi.

welcome to our book club!! we have chats where you can talk to other members and we also have book challenges for everyone :)
and I,together with the other mods, are always around if you need someone to talk to or if you have any questions :D

I love to write, journal, draw, and constantly learn new things for fun. Currently I’m learning to speak spanish, play guitar, watercolour. I love to consume stories in general, in all forms of media. So, movies, tv and books. I’m passionate about too many things and I’m indecisive.
Looking forward to get more involved and meet new people!!

I draw as well and I love stories in all forms of media, so I totally get you! The more passion to go around, the better, I say!
Check out our buddy and group reads, as well as our challenges and games! We've got a ton of fun stuff going on rn and some great stuff planned! And you can chat here in this folder or reach out to us mods. Happy reading!

I used to have another GoodReads account that I made but I just wanted a fresh start so I made this new account. My other hobbies is journaling, playing with my pets, and youtube. I'm interested in starting bookblogging or booktube and I can't wait to start getting active.

looking forward to seeing you around and checking your soon to be book blog and book tube <3

outside of reading, i have my own podcast with my two best friends - it's a true crime podcast and we have lots of fun! i also have a full-time job so reading is sometimes not high on my list of stuff to do after i get home from a long day of work, thus the procrastinating group! audiobooks that i borrow from my library are basically saving my life at the moment! i'm also a big sims 4 addict, i love cats and volunteer with my local humane society to help with the cats there, and i am almost always drinking an iced coffee of some kind. can't wait to procrastinate with you guys :)

Hi Audrey! I hope you have a great time in the group! We're happy to have you! Definitely suggest some of those books you own in the group and buddy read nominations, so you can narrow down that TBR! :)

Ooh where could I find this podcast online? Sounds cool! I've never been super into podcasts, but I'm definitely open to them, so I'd love to check yours out. True crime is always really cool.
I totally love audiobooks as well and they're such a great help for when you're in a slump or when you're too busy with life. And Sims 4 is the bomb hah though I definitely prefer making people and then abandoning them then actually making a real story lol. And cats! YES!
So glad you're in the group, emilee! If you ever need audiobook suggestions, you can check out the Get Me Out Of My Slump folder and make a discussion there! It's a great place to ask the other group members for suggestions. Or just hit me up hah I listen to a lot of audiobooks.

it's called 2 girls, 1 scaredy-cat and you can find it on apple podcasts, spotify, stitcher or google play! we're on our summer break right now but we'll return in the fall for a new season! thanks for checking it out :)
and i'll definitely be checking out that thread, audiobooks have really been my go-to lately!

I love reading and sometimes I try to write too but all of them turned out to be rubbish but I’m not giving up.
I’m really really clumsy.
And I’m a dog person. I love them.

Hi Zaya (and fellow dog lover) !! welcome to the club :")
It's so great that you're writing! yep, never give up. you'll get there soon enough and we're cheering for you !! wooooo

My name is Violet, I'm 24 and I prefer YA and Fantasy. I'm in the states, humid and hot Florida to be exact. It's hard to make time for reading with a full time job and a Youtube channel, not counting all my furbabies <3, but I love it and I'm looking forward to making friends here and discovering new books!

I usually read YA and can usually enjoy most genres of books. My absolute favorites are fantasy and contemporary with a good love story. I am open to reading all genres though, I like to change it up!
I also love watching Marvel movies, outdoor activities, writing my own stories, and hanging out with my friends and family. Almost everywhere I go I like to have a book on me, even if I don't get a chance to read it.
I am really excited to meet people in this book group and talk about our favorite and least favorite books! I would love to discuss books, recommend my favorites, and hear about new books from you all!

Thanks for inviting me to the group. I have created a website that analyze your Goodreads books and give you insights into how many books you have read from each country, how many male and female authors you have read. Also it will recommend you books from countries from which you have never read a book before.
I would love if you check it out and give me some feedback.

I mostly love reading historical fictions and memoirs as this is followed by books of other genres.
It's is so nice to meet you all! :)

i’m kathryn, i’m 14 years old and i’m British! my favourite and preferred genres are fantasy and contemporary and i don’t really live to leave my comfort zone when it comes to books, but do occasionally.
my favourite authors consist of Cassandra Clare, Sarah J Maas, Connie Glynn and Adam Silvera!
apart from reading, i enjoy writing, scrolling on instagram and pinterest, baking and going on adventures!

I'm studying Biochemistry (2nd semester) and unfortunately that's the reason I don't read as much as I used to do. But I'm trying hard to push myself with my yearly reading challenge and try to read as much as possible in the few hours I have left besides studying.
I mainly read fantasy and magical/ coming-of-age stories (even better if they're combined) but I also like to read sci-fi and sometimes YA.

My name is Ashley and I'm from the UK.
I love reading, walking/hiking, movies, dogs and tea.
Im mostly in too Fantasy, YA and Horror books but I do try and read a bit of other genres when I can.
I'm huge fans of Sarah J Maas, Leigh Bardugo and PC Cast.
Hope to get to know you all soon x

I have a book buying problem that I'm trying to get under control so I can get to my giant TBR. My all time favorite author is Ahmed Khaled Tawfik, he's an Egyptian author who passed away last year (and yes I'm still sad over that T.T). I read one of his books by chance when I was 12 and that got me to love reading. He is also the reason why I love so many classics, particularly Russian literature. He would often mention authors and books from around the world which would get me to want to read these books. So I basically owe him everything :D
Looking forward to reading and knowing you all better!

My name is Décio a.k.a MaluTheMan in this community, I'm 22 years old and live in the Algarve, Portugal. I used to read a lot when I was in school, reading during classes instead of paying attention, which I do not recommend doing. I've been procrastinating since(almost 4 years) then because of my hobbies taking a lot of my day and night time, stealing all my energy. That's why I'm here, to get some motivation and regain my old habit of reading and loving it while interacting with all of you.
The stuff I enjoy and spend the most time doing, as referred before as my hobbies, are surf, bodyboard, skate, travel, video games and hang out with my friends.
Let's have fun! :D
