message 102: by Isabel (new)

Isabel (ava-isabel) Hi everyone! I'm Saira (pronounced as sy-ruh) and I'm 18 years old! I live in california and am a college student.

I usually like reading lots of ya books whether they be romance, contemporary, etc. but every once in a while I read a horror or thriller to spice things up.

Sadly, I have a habit of reading like my life depends on it or not reading for several weeks. So! I'm excited to be in this group and hopefully I can stop myself from falling into that habit again and again.

When I'm not reading, I typically cry over bts or binge watch netflix :'))

Please don't hesitate on messaging me or sending a friend request!

message 103: by Natasha (new)

Natasha (thenightcourtreader) Hello folks, I'm Tasha, I'm 28 years young and I'm from a wee town in Ireland. I'm a mom to an eight year old boy and an eleven month old puppy.
I enjoy reading YA, fantasy, thriller, some horror, romance and well written erotica.
I'm a binge reader, I can go for months without reading due to procrastinating, but when I do read I like getting through a novel in a day, two max.
I like crafting while watching Netflix when I'm not lost in a good book.
I'm interested in finding some fellow book lovers, some new authors and new genres to fall in love with.
Feel free to add me xo

Hello! Welcome here!

message 108: by kimberlina (new)

kimberlina (capricorns) hello!! i’ve been a part of this group for awhile, but i’m really shy so i haven’t introduced myself yet. i’m kim and i’m 18 years old! i’m in my first year of college majoring in graphic design, but i’m still not sure what to do after i get my degree?? i’m really enjoying it so far though and i know there’s plenty of things that i can do with it so i’m not that worried for my future yet.

i mostly read YA, lgbtq+, graphic novels, and magical realism books, BUT i’m trying to read more classics and poetry books, even though most of the time i don’t really understand them(english isn’t my first language so maybe that’s shy?). i’m also a big fan of greek mythology and contemporary interpretations of it. i’m always adding books to my tbr, but tbh i read more fanfics than actual books?? it’s a very serious problem. anyways, nice to meet you all! looking forward to being an official part of this group. :-)

message 110: by Livlovelaugh (new)

Livlovelaugh Hi! My name's Olivia. I'm 14 years old and I live in Australia. I have two dogs (Marley and Milo) and two cats (Coco and Jacka). I love to read but I can't really control myself once I've entered a bookstore. As a result, I have a pile of unread books (even though I have been told I read extremely fast). I read every day and usually finish at least 1 book every week.

I also do judo and boxing so I try to stay active (sitting around reading and eating aren't a good way to stay healthy lol). I will read anything and everything but my preferences are crime thriller and dystopian.

I look forward to getting to know all of you! (I kinda need some friends).

Krystal (krystallee6363) Welcome Kim, Olivia and all our other new friends! :)

message 112: by Anya (new)

Anya (anyadendulk) Hello, you all sound lovely💕 my name is Anya and I’m from the US, I am 20 years old and my obsession is fantasy. The one genre I will always come back to:) I do branch out *sometimes* and get sick of it but then I’m back reading fantasy a month later. Lol. I get into reading slumps quite a bit but fantasy usually gets me out so🤷🏻‍♀️

message 114: by Shorthairgirl (new)

Shorthairgirl Good evening !
My name is Rania im 17 years old i live in Morocco precisely in Casablanca.
I enjoy cloudy weather especially when i can stay in my cozy bed and watch the rain fall its such a satisfying feeling . I don’t own any pets because my mom doesn’t like them. My hobbies include watching movies or tv shows rewatching the Harry Potter movies (they are my all time favorite so are the books) reading YA but i recently started reading new genres like horror and sci-fi, daydreaming, and finally looking up some new outfits( when i can afford to do so ofc XD)
I fluently speak french arabic and a little bit of spanish. I sincerely hope that with everyone’s help we will be able to tackle our TBR by overcoming procrastination and of course have a lot of fun while doing so . Its nice to meet all of you let’s get along. :)

message 115: by Jessica (new)

Jessica (hungrymoot) Hello! I got an invite here so I thought I'd check it out. My name's Jessica, by I normally go by either Jessi or Jess so feel free to call me either one. I'm into most genres, which leads to a problem of me constantly adding new books to my to-read list while simultaneously starting books I haven't even placed on it. Hopefully, this group can help me stay more on track.

Besides reading, I write and game, and I'm very easily distracted by trashy reality shows because I can't help myself around drama. I'm Canadian and stereotypically love hockey, which is the only sport that really interests me.

Feel free to add me or hit me up any time. c:

message 116: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (krystallee6363) Welcome Jess and Rania! :)

message 117: by Maggie (last edited Nov 01, 2018 04:33PM) (new)

Maggie (winterdaffodil) | 39 comments Hi, I'm Maggie and I'm from Michigan in the US. I've been in this group for a few weeks and I decided to look at the discussions again. I'm a christian and I play clarinet. I love reading (I mean duh why would I be here) I'm 13 years old and I'm in 8th grade. I read at least one book a week because all of my spare time at school is spent reading. I have two 23-25 pound cats (One is my profile pic) I watch youtube all the time at home. I love green, sunflower seeds, books, and riding my bike to the bookstore (I live so close to a mall with Schuler's I'm in heaven) I guess that's all.

message 118: by angie (new)

angie (neonwhite) Hi!
I’m Angie, I live in Colombia and I’m 17 years old (18 on the 25th!!)
I’ve been in love with reading since I was very young. I try to read a bit of everything but I always end up YA romance lol, and although there’s nothing wrong with that, I would love to branch out and read the many books in my TBR that are from a different genre.
I hope we all have a nice experience in this group :)

message 119: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Errm... Hi I’m Lexie. I’m 19 and a full time university student. I’m not exactly a procrastinator I’ll admit but I was invited to this group and it seemed nice so I thought why not. I just read what books I want to read when I want to read them but I’m totally up for buddy or group reads when I can get to them. My favourite genres are young adult fantasy, fiction and sometimes contemporary.

Nice to meet you all and hope I can make some new bookish friends!

message 120: by Cendaquenta (new)

Cendaquenta Hello! 👋 I'm Cenda. Early 20s and Scottish. I joined because Faith invited me - thanks Faith!
Favourite genre is fantasy/sci-fi, but I'm a literary omnivore, will read almost anything as long as the synopsis catches my interest.

message 121: by Mama X (new)

Mama X (mamax) Thanks for the invite, Faith. You know me all too well... #procrastination. LOL

message 122: by MCat (new)

MCat (portofcall) Hi, I'm Kaisa and I'm from Finland. I've always enjoyed reading books, but just last year got really into Goodreads and am still trying to figure out my place here.

I enjoy reading all kinds of books, but mostly fantasy. There is no actual genre I do not like that much, because if a books seems interesting, then I will read it... if I have time.

I wanted to join this book club because I want to socialize here more and of course tackle my TBR. My dream is to have it as small as possible, so when I come across a new book I want to get into, I actually will be able to do that!

It's so nice to meet you all and I'm looking forward to reading all the books with you!

message 124: by Anna (new)

Anna Hi everyone.

I'm Anna and I'm from the USA. I really enjoy reading, but I've been in a reading slump for a couple of years. So, I decided that it was time to get back into reading.

I mainly read YA contemporary books, but I'm trying to delve into fantasy more. I feel like it's a genre I'll like, I just haven't read a lot of books from it (save for Harry Potter and Vampire Academy and a few others).

I wanted to join this book club because I wanted to meet new people and try to learn about new books!

message 125: by Olive (last edited Nov 02, 2018 02:09PM) (new)

Olive (oliveo) | 2 comments Hi. I'm Olive (Ik really strange). Anyways, I loved reading YA fantasy, historical, and coming of age type books. I joined because I need to pace my reading. I just tend to put literally everything off just for books and it's affecting me in every aspect.
I joined so I could talk to people about books and just meet different readers.

message 126: by Cyn (new)

Cyn Hey there, I'm Cyn. I am 22 and have always been obsessed with reading. I love YA dystopian and speculative fiction.

message 128: by E. (new)

E. Lancelot (letboyskissboys) | 1 comments Yo, I'm Mikey, 14, and I'm from the US. I read mostly realistic fiction, erotica via the internet, and science fiction. Horror has a special part of my heart that I can't always look in the eye all the time. I'm currently writing a YA fiction novel that focuses on mental health and family relationships regarding MH. My favorite books include works by Allen Ginsberg, Edgar Allen Poe, Kevin Henkes, Rick Riordan, Lewis Carroll, and Gerard Way with Gabriel Bá.

My favourite books are The Lord of the Rings, Strange the Dreamer, Shadow and Bone, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass, Great Expectations, and An Ember in the Ashes.

message 131: by Viburnum (hiatus) (new)

Viburnum (hiatus) Hi, you can call me Vibur!
I'm a uni student and I'm from Australia. There's a lot of things that I love, including reading, but there are times when I might not touch a single book for many months. But when I do start reading, I tend to burn through the books fairly fast.
I'm particularly fond of YA fantasy and science fiction :)

message 132: by Lea-Sophie (new)

Lea-Sophie (libriabella) Hey! I'm Lea-Sophie, 18 years old and from Austria!
I'm in my last year of high school and therefore quite busy doing other things than reading - plus I'm a big procrastinator and a sucker for never-ending series like Grey's Anatomy...

I can't really tell which genre I like the best - might be contemporary romance! Lately I'm trying to get into reading classics... ;)

Hope to get to know y'all soon! Feel free to add me as a friend! :D

message 133: by Maddy (new)

Maddy Mazurek (pnwreader13) | 1 comments Hi everyone! I’m Maddy, 27 from the US. My favorite genres are historical fiction and autobiography. I’ve always loved reading and once I finally get to it, I can devour a book in a couple days. I thought it’d be fun to share my love of reading with other people and maybe make some new friends along the way!

message 134: by Lori (new)

Lori (craven_lori) hi
my name is lori. I am a 27 year old stay at home mom who loves reading (and knitting and crochet when not reading) and I honestly am just now delving into the YA genre. I don't read as much or as fast as I used to due to both having young kids and due to having epilepsy. on days when my epilepsy is bothering me, I can't look at the words because they all just run together giving me a sick feeling. but I hope to have fun and enjoy this group.

message 135: by Venla (new)

Venla (casodellibros) | 3 comments Hey! My name is Venla and I'm a 17-year-old student from Finland. Currently I live in The West Coast of Finland but next year I will spend a year in Mexico as an exchange student. I have been reading kind of obsessively since I learned how to read. My favourite genres are definitely detective stories and horror. Sadly, these days I don't have that much time for reading because of my hobbies, work and school. I was invited to this group and I just thought it would be fun to be a member so I joined. :)

message 136: by アリシア (new)

アリシア (canyounotbothermenowimreading) | 4 comments I’m Alicia, a 19yo from Cali. I’m the youngest of five siblings. I Love manga and anime♥️, and fantasy is my favorite genre.

message 137: by pads (new)

pads of rainy days (mistellation) Holi, holi~

The name’s Pads, a seventeen years old from Spain. I’ve been reading as a hobby since I was eleven, and I read... a lot? But recently, school has me on edge of life and I don’t have that much spare time, sadly. To make it worse, the only books I get to read are these boring, compulsory titles for school that make me feel like reading is a painful process full of stress with one only goal: pass a test.

Anyway, I don’t give up easily and I have tons of books I want to read before school makes me lose every ounce of happiness.

✨faith✨trust✨pixiedust✨ Dead Account; Not Coming Back (faithm99) Hi everyone! So glad you've joined the group!

message 139: by Nikita (new)

Nikita Hi I'm Nikita, I'm 32 and from OK, USA. I love YA, fantasy and even some children books. I read via audiobooks due to a reading disability. My top three favorite authors are Julie Kagawa, Sarah J. Maas and Marissa Meyer. I'm happy to be here

message 140: by Raven (new)

Raven Storm Well hello :)

My name is Alice, i'm 24 and from Denmark. I am 14 days from having finished my teachers education, I'm currently employed at a sort of boaring school. (we call it efterskole) where I teach English(second language ofc) and soon German.

I have always read ALOT, and still do, but I also like procastinating, my best example is that I have always wanted to read Tolkiens lotr series, but never got around to it untill last year, when I recived a boxset from my sister.

I'm currently procastination everything in a genre of crime/detictive/murder mystery novels. This is silly because I absolutely love Stephen king and Dean Koontz books, but never get around to read other autors, fearing it will be a bland reading experience.

Currently I am reading only in Danish and that is rather fun though, cause I'm always reading multiple stories at a time, but many are usually in English.

message 141: by Lys-A-Book (new)

Lys-A-Book | 2 comments Hey everyone!

I'm Lys, I'm 26 and from France. I've always loved to read but these past few years I didn't have much time to allocate to reading. So now there are so many books that I want to read and my TBR will probably never end :D.

My preferred genres are Fantasy, Thriller/Mystery, YA but I'm open to suggestions and I love to get out of my comfort zone and try new things.

When I was younger I read in French but right now I seem to be reading only in English and I'm loving it (though I still read sometimes in French).

This group is literally made for me haha because I'm always telling myself I want to read that series that everyone is talking about and then... I read 5 or 10 years later :D. I'm hoping that I can join and take down some of the books from my TBR with you guys!

message 142: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 29, 2019 01:29PM) (new)

Hey!

I'm Claudia. 😂 I'm 27, I think, and I'm Cuban. I hate YA and I don't usually read fantasy or sci-fi. I prefer historical romance (preferably stories which take place during the World War) or just romance. Yeah, too cheesy, I know. (some angst is well received, too) 😂

I'm looking forward to getting to know you and enjoy this group!

message 143: by Levi (new)

Levi Macdonald (trashyylevi) | 16 comments Heya! I’m Levi, I’m 19 and I am an aspiring fantasy writer who lives in the UK😅 currently studying creative writing at uni, I’m also a cosplayer and a (casual af) gamer!

I mostly read YA and Fantasy, but recently having been giving more contemporaries a chance, and have been really enjoying them! My favourite authors consist of Cassandra Clare, Seanan McGuire and Rick Riordan!
I would really love to see more YA fantasy with LGBTQ+ rep; which is what I hope to do with my own writing!

I’m hoping to read more good fantasy this year, and just start emptying out my TBR!

It’ll be lovely to meet and get to know you all!

message 144: by Mihlean (new)

Mihlean Hey! I'm a little late to the party, but my name is Mihlean (pronounced as "mie-lèn"). I'm 18 years old and I live in the Netherlands. I've recently started living on my own, since I've started attending uni, because the journey from my home to the uni would be way too long.

I used to read a lot of books a year (usually around the 150-200), but recently it's starting to become a lot less and I'm fearing the worst this year! I'm trying to keep up with my reading though, so hopefully joining a group like this might help:)

I hope everyone is having a nice day!

~ Mihlean

message 145: by ALANA (new)

ALANA I'm Alana from Los Angeles California. I love thrillers, romance, memoirs, historical fiction and contemporary novels. I buy so many books and have so little time they are just like decorations on my shelf 😑. I want to read everything on my shelf plus more. 🤩

message 146: by Krystal (new)

Krystal (krystallee6363) Welcome new friends! :)

message 147: by Alex (new)

Alex Anderson Hello this is my first time writing in the procrastinators page. My name is Alex I'm 24 almost 25. I live in Minnesota and right now it is terribly cold out :(. I try to read as much as possible on my free time, I also like to listen to music, write, color and watch Netflix.

My go to genres to read are fantasy, paranormal, contemporary and urban fantasy. Lately I've been in the mood for diversity/LGBTQ+ type books. I also want to tackle a lot of fantasy I've accumulated like Children of Blood and Bone, Lady Midnight, Fury Born, etc.

Hope to hear from you and participate in some buddy reads!

message 148: by Steph (new)

Steph L (thetheatergeek) | 121 comments Oh Hi!

My name is Steph and I am 30 from NJ. I read a lot of YA, The Classics, and Historical Fiction.

In addition to reading, I am a writer and I sing. I performed when I was younger, and I still love and I help out with local theater.

I don't read a ton of Fantasy, but I have really come to grown the genre.

message 149: by Jana (new)

Jana (cadavercarousel) | 4 comments Hey! My name's Jana, I'm 18 years old and from Germany.
I used to read so much as a child, which slowed down to 2 to 3 books I had to read for school, so I'm hoping to get back on track. More than the quantity, I feel like I lost a lot of enjoyment that I got from reading, I used to devour books with such ease.
So my goals would be to pick up books that make me happy (which translates to dnf-ing more), and to read more in English.

Nice to meet you all :)

message 150: by Marie (last edited Mar 07, 2019 08:16AM) (new)

Marie Hello there! I'm Marie, in my teenage years, and I live in the US. Though it can get hard with school, I love to read a lot, and it's preeety much my only hobby besides writing. That said, I recently started a blog too that's book related (it's linked in my profile, if you wanna check it out!)

I read mostly YA Fantasy and Contemporary, though I try not to stick to one genre too much, and also enjoy diverse books.

Hoping to get to know y'all!
