Marta ౨ৎ˚ (readbymarta) Hello! My name is Marta, i'm 17 and I'm Spanish. I'm in my last year of high school and I plan on studying Literature in the U.K next year!

My favourite genres are fantasy, ya contemporary, historical fiction, classics and horror (so almost a bit of everything)

Besides reading I also love to watch tv shows and going to concerts of my favourite bands. I also love to write but I procastinate a lot and don't do it unless there's something like a contest that i'm excited to participate in.

I tend to buy way too many books and then it takes me ages to get to all of them so hopefully this group will help.
Nice to know you all!

message 61: by William (new)

William Macias (willdoggdotcom) | 49 comments Hey what's up everyone! My name is Will and I am from Southern California. I read a lot of non-fiction but have been reading fiction lately. I can read anything from a good multi-variable differential equations calculus textbooks, to a classic Orwell book. Locally, I try to attend the Phy-Sci book club, and Latino authors book club each month (depends if I'm interested in the book course). When I'm not eating and having food spell on my white shirts, I dabble a bit with music, do a bit of art, and exercise.

message 62: by Erin (new)

Erin Hi! I'm Erin. I live in Kentucky I'm 32. I use to work at a library. I'll read almost anything but my favorite genres are Mystery, Biography, Young Adult, Historical Fiction, and True Crime. I don't really like Westerns but I have read some.
I'm currently reading a lot of Stephen King.
My TBR never stops growing and I doubt that I'll be able to make a dent in it.

My fav. genres are contemporary, fantasy, romance, and historical fiction. My least fav. is horror and I hope through this I get some reading done!

Petre (petre_stojanov) | 2 comments Hi everyone,
I'm Petre from Macedonia. I read classics, sf, philosophy and of course new-published literature.
I have a huge TBR book list, hardly manageable, but I'm trying to mix the reads, from classics to best-seller to philosophy and vice versa.
Anyway, nice to meet you.

I used to be a hardcore YA fan but this year I have found myself reaching out to more diverse genres and stepping out of my comfort zone. And I have been loving it so far :)))

I can't wait to meet y'all :D

message 68: by Aria (new)

Aria (ariadnush) Hi, my name is Aria, i live in Scotland and i'm 20 years old. My fave genres are fantasy, young adult, contemporary and historical fiction. I listen to audiobooks too and i recently started reading eBooks. I also like taking pictures and i watch a bunch of TV shows and cartoons. One of my favorite books ever is "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" by Stieg Larsson even if my least favorite genre is mystery/thriller. One thing i'd like to start is a booktube channel but i'm shy and i'm just trying to gather up the courage to do it.

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

Hello!
My name is Terra. I'm from the US. My TBR is just huge. It is over 500 and counting. I am going to break it down into two categories soon. Classics and everything else. I have a goal of reading the top 100 classics recommended before I die and it's taking a WHILE since I am a mood reader. Besides classics, I love fantasy, sci-fi, young adult, history, romance, mysteries, thrillers, anything that teaches me something and children stories.

My other goal is to get my TBR down to a manageable level...the little voice in my head just giggled at me....and my cat just gave me a LOOK. I'm hoping this group will give me a chance to do that. Since there sooo many!

Thank you Neyla for inviting me to this group!

message 70: by Angy (new)

Angy | 2 comments Hi everyone! I’m very new here but this club seems perfect for me since I’m a huge procrastinator on my reading and TBR list sometimes.

My name is Angelina and I turn 13 in October! I live in the USA and more specifically, in Florida. I’m a youngster but it’s better for me to foster my love of reading now so it’ll grow in the future. My interests include: singing, dancing (I’m on my school’s dance club!), reading of course, writing, drawing, and designing. My favorite genres that I read most of the time are: adventure & fantasy, and dystopian and utopian. My least favorite is thriller and horror since I’m a huge scaredy cat.

I would love to be able to read more historical fiction, sci-fi, and contemporary books in the upcoming year! I’m open for book recommendations that’ll add to my growing list of TBR books. That should be all for now but I’m excited for this club and meeting you all!

message 71: by Maja (new)

Maja Hey guys!
I'm Maja, I'm 16 turning 17 next month and I live in Germany. My favourite genres are YA, Fantasy and Historical Fiction but I'll read basically any genre as long as the book sounds interesting. (By "read" I mean add to my neverending TBR.) I'm in my last year of high school and pretty busy, so I don't have as much time for reading as I'd like. (And also I spend way too much time on here and other social media fangirling instead of reading new things.) For every book I read, I add 5 to my TBR. I might have a problem xD I hope that joining this group will help me get my TBR down a little, and also chat to some fellow procrastinators that can relate to my struggles :D Other than reading, my passions include languages, maths, playing the piano, cooking and crafting.

Dellaknowsdobby | -12 comments Greetings!
I'm Della, and I hail from the East Coast. I'm a musical, book-loving, and theatrical high-schooler. My first academic love is literature, especially historical fiction and dystopian novels. I have read Harry Potter "too many times," especially Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (I've read both eight times). Music, theater, and filmmaking are my primary creative outlets.
Looking forward to getting to know you all! :)

Tala Hello my name is Tala and I’m 21 years old. I recently graduated from college with a bachelors degree in dental hygiene. In my very recent college years, I’ve never had the free time to sit back and read a good novel, so my “to be read” pile is absolutely massive lol. The genres I typically gear towards are classic and contemporary. On the other hand, I tend to avoid science fiction novels (except Ender’s game won my heart). I look forward to getting to know you guys! :)

Jeanette (missbooktreble) | 13 comments Hi everyone! My name is Jeanette and I'm from Texas in the US. I'm 25 years old and have been reading since the age of 12 starting with the Harry Potter series. My favorite genres are contemporary, fantasy, romance, and anything YA. I try my best to read and be active with Goodreads while being a teacher assistant at my local elementary school.
My favorite books include the Harry Potter series, The Hunger Games, The Book Thief, The Hate U Give, Throne of Glass, and A Court of Thorns and Roses. There's so many books in my TBR and I can't wait to get the opportunity to read them and create bookish friends that understand the community. I look forward to making friends and gushing over the great books that YA comes up with. Happy reading to everyone!!

Hi Della!! I'm originally from the East Coast in Florida but live in Texas currently. I also love music and books!! I like that you have an obsession over Harry Potter as much as I do! I'm obsessed with either Goblet of Fire or Deathly Hollows. But I do like historical fiction, especially The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.

message 97: by Ron (new)

Ron Wroblewski Hi, I am Ron, and have been on goodreads for over 3 years. I read over 100 books a year and have been doing that for all of my life. I have a library of 2300 books, of which I haven't read about 800 of them. Most of them are now in storage all inventoried, since I mostly live and travel around the country in an RV. Probably have 30-40 books in the RV, When I get back to Illinois I trade them out and bring in new ones to read. I have never had a reading slump in my life. However, there are a number of books that I have started on, liked, and never finished. Hence the need for the procrastinator's club.
You can look on my shelves to see what I read - historical fiction, non-fiction books on war, religion/spirituality, history, drama, philosophy, alternative medicine, specific authors. I probably read 60/40 fiction/nonfiction. I don't read horror (King, Koontz etc), vampires, dark, most science fiction, most fantasy. I do like romance within historical fiction. I have read all of the Outlander books, and all that several authors have written. I will get read all 68 of Douglas Reeman's novels on the sea. I have a large TBR list (more than is on goodreads) which I would like to get through. I really am not too interested in getting new books with the exception of 1. the to-read books of my best friends on here that we have in common, 2. the book compatibility list comparison that I haven't read (in order to be more compatible with you), and 3. some good recommendations that you have sent to me that I want to read.

I do read multiple books at a time and have several of my procrastination books on there. How about this one "War Studies", a correspondence course I took out in 1969 that I never finished, but am now 3/4 through. Centennial is another long term TBR on my current list. I have had Will Durant's 13 book series on World History for decades, and of Sandburg's 6 vol series on the life of Abe Lincoln I have read just 2. I carry books everywhere I go.

I give away books on paperbackswap and have given away 359 to date. And I have sent books to several goodreads members. I would love to develop more goodreads friends that I can send books to. I am a Toastmaster and many of the ideas I get from books go into giving speeches, which I love to do.

And here is something personal I thought of today. Why do I read constantly? My thought today was that the characters in a book are always available to me. My friends - how many stay in touch? Even with best friends I am usually the one to make contact. Often times I feel alone, even in a crowd, even at an event. I am 60% extrovert and 40% introvert. A book can always speak to me. All I have to do is pick it up and open it. I hope in buddy reading I can meet some that will become good friends and stay in regular contact.

That's me
Ron

I have missed reading books and I stopped for awhile because LIFE. But now that I'm in a good place, I'm a bookworm again (recently joined the public library in my neighborhood).

I have no kids, a little shih tzu dog named Monroe and working for a software company full time and do Lyft/Uber part time. Being a blogger is fun and I wish I made money from it, but maybe one day I will. I love to travel and planning a long overdue trip to my homeland of Puerto Rico during the holidays.
