Like for example, if you marry a Duke and your name is Lydia you have a 1 in 8 chance of dying."

Ha ha. Oh dear. A weird statistic lol.

No kidding Jan, I only noticed it because I was streamlining how I labeled widowers.

Lorien | 427 comments Has anyone in this thread read any of the the Duke of Danby stories. He's a scheming older duke, who likes matchmaking his relatives. He appears to pop up in several stories, usually novella's and in collections, by various authors.
Has anyone come across him or read any of these stories, do you ever get his name?
Are these all the same Duke of Danby?

Missy | 1477 comments I’ve read a few novellas with that meddling old duke. 😆 I don’t think his name’s ever mentioned. I feel like it’s the same duke but damn! I never knew he appeared in that many novellas!!

Mariana | 2692 comments Wow! What a list! I don't think I've read any of these. I searched for a few Christmas ones on the list, and they don't appear to be available anymore.

Yeah, I've come across a handful of books that appear to have disappeared except from everywhere but goodreads. If there's enough information there and in the reviews, the duke can stay.
But if I can't find the dukes title at the least, he gets marked "Unnamed" and stricken from the list.

Lorien | 427 comments I've also found these books with the same story about "Graham “Gray” Wingrove, the Duke of Pennyton", but under 3 different titles, with four author names. Only the newest is still available. There are a handful of other books by this person with duplicates. Feels a little fishy since they didn't mark the blurb with a note.
