ABANDONED. YA? book written from the perspective of a female Fox. Read in 1990's. Spoilers ahead.

It takes place mostly in the woods, near some train tracks, and the main character is a female fox.

I read the book in the early to mid 1990's, not sure how old it was at the time. It might have been Young Adult, though it got pretty dark and the main character and her mate are sort of described having sex, though I think it focuses on her emotions at the time rather than physical details.

The book was in English, I don't remember anything about the cover or the author.
