Reading more than one book

If we're talking novels, I won't read more than one new one at a time. I'll reread a novel while reading a new one, and if time gets busy, I can easily give time to the new ones over the old ones.I'm also a comic reader and enjoy reading scripts and serials from time to time, so I'll read those at the same time as a new novel on occasion as well. But I'll usually stick to one new novel at a time, regardless of what the rest of my reading plate looks like.
I don't really like reading more than one book at a time because I end of showing favoritism anyway where I will put more focus on whichever book I'm enjoying more. Occasionally I will read more than one book at once. When I'm reading an anthology, I often read short stories from the anthology when I'm between books. I also used to read one traditional book and one ebook at the same time back when I had computer class. My teacher didn't like it when I read my book in class (even if I was done with my assignment), so I would read books on the computer, making it look like I was working. But I don't do this anymore and I very rarely read more than one book at a time.
I'm pretty much always reading at least 2 books - one audio book and one book book. And I tend to start a new book if I'm bored with the one I'm reading or if I get access to one I'm really excited about. But in that case I'm usually not actively reading both - I just put aside the boring one for a bit. Reading more than one book is easiest when the books aren't super similar. If they're similar, I tend to get confused as to what's happened in each one.
I can't do it. I've tried and I would and up only reading one. I like to stick with one book and.finish it before i start anything else. that way I can totally devote myself to that one book :)
I think I'm going to give it another try. I am currently reading an eBook (thriller), but I like to read a real book before I go to bed so I think I might read a little romance novel. Because my kindle reader is on my laptop I find it too bright to get to sleep. And if it doesn't work I'll simply hold of the other book.
I usually don't read more than one book at a time. If I'm not into a book and I'm excited to start a different one, I've taken a break from one to read the other. But I don't flip back and forth, I will rather read the other one all the way through, and then I'll either go back to finish the other one, or if I really don't care to finish it, I'll just leave it unread. (That had only happened once actually, with Enclave.)I made an exception just recently. I was reading The Kill Order, and took a break to quickly ready The Giver seeing as the movie is coming out right away. Now I'm back to The Kill Order to finish it off.
So I just looked at my currently reading shelf and realized that out of the 8 books on there, I've started 6 of them. Eek! Maybe I should finish some of those up! lol
I never used to, but since ereading, I fear that I've developed book adhd and jump in and out of different books a little too much.

I have only ever tried to read wo books at once and did'nt enjoy it and abandoned both books. Although this could be due to the fact I didn't get into the books. i was wondering how everyone else found reading more than one book at the same time? Do you find it a challenge or love it?
Thanks for your replies in advance.
