I'm looking for a book where the main character is a woman who is a dragon. One of her best friends(or only one, not sure) is a dragon hunter but he does not know what she is. She's in hiding. She may be running a bookstore and is planning on opening an attached cafe though I'm not 100% sure about that. One of the characters in the book is a very old vampire who recognises the heroine. I think they end up sleeping together at some point, or they may be past lovers. Near the end of the book, there's a big fight and she has to use a power unique to dragons, so her hunter friend recognises her. The book is set in modern times. This book is the first in the series. I have read it after 2005, but not sure about the exact year. The second book was in works at the time but has not been published for at least another 3-4 years after I've read it, which is why I'm interested in finding this book: to re-read it and see if the sequel has been written :)
One more clue, the cover of the book when I read it was blue, with a woman's face melding into the background... also in the shades of light blue.
Anyways, I really hope somebody recognises this book :D
Oooh, I've just remembered another tidbit: Somewhere at the beginning of the book, heroine and her hunter friend attend a festival, something like larping maybe. Pretty sure they're there with another female friend :D
