SOLVED. Man thinks he is marrying girl, but has to marry oldest daughter. Still desires younger sister and married her to his knight to claim lord right to bed new bride. [s]

Details. I read the book about 10 years ago. It was about a girl living in a castle or keep with her older sister. There is a (Highland, Scottish, English lord) man that is riding with his solders to stake claim to the village. They come across a girl in the forest and the lord decides to claim her. Is stopped by someone who claims she is the lady of the keep and he is supposed to marry her. The guy goes to the castle and is told he must marry the girls older sister. After he unhappily get married to the sister, he pursues his interest in the younger sister. Later in the book after a bunch of sexual tension, he falls in love with the younger sister. The new Lord of the keep/castle decides to marry off the younger sister to one of his knights. He then asserts his right to cliam the new bride as his right as the king/head clansman. His wife "the older sister" gets crazy Jealous and loses her mind. She attacks the younger sister and falls out of a window...and dies. He eventually marries the younger sister after her husband mysteriously dies too. ....Please help me figure out the Name of author or titla of this book if you know it.

The plot reminds me of The Conqueror by Brenda Joyce but there are some differences I think!
