Good luck!

Owen, is this a spoiler: the people are robots who are designed to raise him? Or do you learn this early in the book?

Its been close to 20 years ago since I read it so my recollection is not the clearest but I think you learn that pretty early off. The focal point of the book is not that part. Its the journey getting to outside and learning secrets and what not.

Honestly it might be.
I don't remember there being more than a boy and a girl (the description of this book mentions 6 people) and its been so long I don't remember references of race/ethnicity. But in any case, I am going to pick this book up and read it. Even if it is not the book I am looking for, it is right up the general ally of that book.
Thanks for your contribution.

Hello, I am looking for a book that I read 12 years ago about a boy who lived in a town in which everyone there was a robot. The boy mentioned in the book that every day he changed and grew but it seemed like the people in his classes would look the same for a while and then one day they would just be different.
Since they were robots they could not grow they simply built new ones that looked the age his was (for his classmates and stuff). Eventually he meets another girl who is actually human. They fall in love and escape the city somehow. In this process they find out that the place was a giant incubator because something terrible had happened to the earth and that they were possibly the last two humans.
The book ends with them escaping into the real world outside of their protective bubble. There might have also been a long tunnel in this process of escaping to the outside.

I read the book Z for Zachariah after this book so its highly likely that the genres are the same. I took a shot at YA Sci fi because it seemed to fit.
