YA Story Sisters Book Club discussion
What is the book you are all reading?

My fave is ''The Dark Artifices''. Book one is ''Lady Midnight'' and two ''Lord of Shadows'' the thrid is coming early december 2018: ''Queen of Air and Darkness''.
Which book/series shall I start with from Sarah?
//Emma

I haven't read the Throne of Glass series by Sarah but I have ordered at my library, I just need to wait for the person who has it to return it.
I am reading the "A Court of Thorns and Roses" series which is amazing. I am currently waiting on the 2nd book to arrive.
I am going to have a look at this "The Dark Artifices."

Okay, thanks I'll give it a go!

I've done a little research and I would recommend you to begin with her series ''The Mortal Instruments'' instead. ''Dark Artifices'' is better when you have more background knowledge, which you get from ''The Mortal Instruments''.
Hope that made sense,

Uh. You are DEFINITELY NOT the only one. In my loc..." I'm reading that right now. I know I'm behind I'm trying to catch up.

Never too late to read a good series :)

You'll love the series, Cassandra is awesome!

I promise I won't spoil anything :)
I remember how obsessed I was. I'm kind of jealous since you've the whole series ahead of you..your're in for a treat.
Favorite character..that is hard. It has been a while since I read the two first books, but I think it has to be Julian. I feel that I connect with him more than the other characters. His feelings run so deap and Cassandra explains them in such a beautiful way. I truly feel with him.
Who is your favorite?

Umm.... I don't know yet I really like Emma because she makes the best jokes and just really badass. Are you excited for the new book coming out? I just love the book because they bring the old characters into and I love it.

Uh. You are DEFINITELY NOT the on..." That's what I'm trying to do but I don't think I can finish lady midnight and lord of shadows in just a day. But life goes on. LOL

Love her books. That will definitely go on my pile of to-reads. Just finished H.G. Howard's ROSEBLOOD, and actually wasn't that impressed. Was very slow and too prose descriptive rather than action or emotional packed, and it took over halfway through before it got to the good stuff. Was disappointed, because it had a lot of potential.

Yeah I love the plot as well. I love how Cassandra can create new stories and characters in her original world and make them even better (my opinion :). ) than the original characters!
I'm really excited for the new book, but I have to wait like two months before I can read it :( My local library will buy it next year... I hope I won't see any spoilers..

Cassandra is the best :). I've not read that book, but I do hate it when a book has a lot of potential, but doesn't use it...it's very frustration to read..
//Emma

I still need to finish lady midnight and lord of shadows lets hope I get that done before this year ends.

I belive in you, don't underestimate you reading power! :)
//Emma

No problem :)

So what are you reading?

Hi! If you mean what I'm reading the answer is: Clockwork princess, The Siren and Bajo la misma Estrella (The fault in our Stars in Spanish). How about you?
//Emma

I love the fault in our stars!

still reading lady midnight and crooked kingdom.

Hey everyone, I'm Chante, I just finished reading "The Cruel Prince" by Holly Black. I would recommend the series to anyone if you loved ACOTAR. Holly Black has more of a complex writing of faeries but I would say their both really good reads.

I just finished a graphic novel called hostage by guy deisle and now am moving on to loving vs. virginia
just finished a very large expanse of sea

Loved that book! I'd figured out the twist a wee bit before it happened, but partly because I'd come across a similar twist recently.

...but after reading all those earlier comments I'm fixated on looking up 'Deep Blue'! Mermaids here I come.

Am simultaneously reading Diana Gabaldon's 'Drums of Autumn', depending on my mood.

Wow, I read these years ago - not sure if I ever read the first one though. Think I started with Valley of Horses and didn't finish the series (due to living in remote area without a decent library!). May try the series again from the start.

That's awesome! I loved that book it had such a plot twist at the end I'm actually reading her new book "Two can keep a sercet" (not a sequel to one of us is lying)
